I just finished this about 3 weeks ago - excellent. I read somewhere that this was the first novel to deal with temporary insanity and that it's still studied in advanced psychology courses.

Great call!

Post hitch-hikers guide

The Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy is a great book. Its good for just about anyone. It's got humor, off the wall science fiction that will still leave you thinking, andgood story telling. My favorite non-serious book ever. It's a bit long, but you wont want it to end.

Default basketball diaries

The best book I have read recently was "The Basketball Diaries" by Jim Carroll.
Dont judge the book by the movie. It's basically a diary that Carroll kept in his early teen years and he gets addicted to Heroin, but it's really has some funny moments.
However it's really short and can be read in a day so just get it from the library. Its crazy to see how much slang has been recycled, the book takes place in the 60's and they say stuff like "peeps"
