| i think we're not supposed to put in links to commercial sites (posting guidelines say so). just do a google search for "gutsman" and maybe "lambiek" and should get there. lambiek is the store in amsterdam that stocks lots of alternative comix, they also do mailorder. but if you never got into any alternative comics you might want to start w/ your local comics store (if any)... so you can see for yourself what you're buying before you buy. i ran across gutsman in a store in NYC but since found that hardly anyone carries it in the states. if you're shopping locally ask for the section w/ the "independent" stuff, fantagraphics and drawn & quarterly in particular. jim woodring has a collection of his comics ("the frank book") you can probably get in any borders or reasonable bookstore. in some respects that resembles gutsman, though both are highly original and not really like each other or anything else. gutsman number 2 and 3 in particular are excellent. 4 - 8 are good too. (most recent is 8.) number 1 is out of print and you don't need it, it's much worse. (that was before the author, erik kriek, when pro).
