hardcore ff fans, prepare to be greatly dissapointed, your marvels next comic to movie translation... and to think, the film that was rejected on the cutting table was almost dead on in continuity, dead-on costume desigbs, and a 1/2way decent attempt to passing of reed as a grey-haired college student. honestly, tho, what is marvel gonna do when they start making ultimate movies? use the original origins and story lines?

Hey Sdragon can you post your artwork? One of my favourite things about the internet is doing google image searches to see peoples paintings and drawings. In the cool links thread there is a link 11111...com posted by horrible troll, it's fantastic.

id love to, but since i dont have a scanner, i have to bring stuff over to my dads if i want it scanned. fortunately, i do have one peice of work on my computer, and its pretty appropriate for this thread. its my tribute piece for will eisner. for those of you who dont get the signifigence (sp? ik that ik it, but cant think of it right now) of everything, the hat and mask belong to his most famous character, the spirit. the font used is an attempt to immatate a font once used for the title of the selftitled book, the spirit. also, as youll notice, i put will eisners name in the hatband, and made the farewell a play on words (may his SPIRIT live on). ive tried submitting this to the official site for tribute art for will eisner, but my email screwed up my attempt.

edit- since it wouldnt let me upload the file due to it having an invalid filetype, i changed the filetype in photoshop, and since it was already in photoshop, i edited the contrast and brightness a bit. here it is. its also a bit smaller then it was meant to be, due to upload limits........

and if this thread is gonna die like its been trying so hard to do, at least let it die with a eulogy thats at least somewhat appropriate, something thats short and sweet, so here goes (edit- if anybody wants to revive this thread, go ahead, but dont just make one post, at least make a decent effort).............

i used to read comics alot. the best ones ive found with a low budget are "comics of the 1950s" and the goldent age of marvel. im a dc guy to be honest. i love batman.

speaking of which, let me tell you why im more of a marvel man myself.......


take any two comparable characters, one from marvel, one from dc- lets start with wolverine and batman..........

wolverine wins hands down. batman wouldnt go for the kill, wolverine would.
thor and superman-
im sorry, isnt superman weak to kryptonite and magic ? doesnt an enchanted hammer qualify as magic?
im sure you see a pattern here........

edit- though i still enjoy dc..... just for when im looking for a change of pace...

Hmm. Interesting point about Thor and Supes, I never considered Thor could whoop Supes butt for that reason. Now I see why in DC VS Marvel, they had Superman fight the Hulk. Although in JLA VS Avengers, Supes did hold his own against Thor.

Now as for Wolvie VS Bats, yeah maybe in an impromptu 1 on 1, Wolvie would have Batman lying in a heap of his own Bat-blood, but what about a scenario in which Bats had a chance to prepare and study Wolverine? Not only the World's Greatest Detective but also a supreme strategist, Batman would win without a doubt.

as for batman being a master strategist, it doesnt really matter. wolvies a master survivalist. bats sets up traps to contain wovlie? hell just ripp right out of the trap even if it tears his skin right off. and hed do that even w/o a healing factor.

wolverine came close to killing sabertooth. bane came close to killing batman. batman refuses to kill anybody. no contest............

dont get me wrong tho, im not saying the marvel u is infallible.

take power pack vs. teen titans (current lineup) for example............

unless tattletale was still in the power pack........ if he can total onslaught, then teen titans shouldnt be too much of a problem.
