dude i felt the same way, i'm not ashamed when emotions come out when i read.. just means the author transferred the emotions in the book to the reader very well. but i wasn't expecting that out of harry potter. i didnt cry but u know i felt real sad, i wasn't just like "damn that sucks"

I haven't read it yet, but I know all the spoilers. When I was told that someone carks it I automatically thought it would be that person and it turned out I was right.

What did people think of the explanation of the whole Half Blood Prince thing? (without giving away who it is). People I have spoken to weren't impressed with the way that was handled. Something about it being very brief.

Did anyone really not enjoy the book? Or is it really worth the read? I must admit I was suprised that it didn't look as epic as the last one did. After how long its taken for it to come out I figured it'd be huge.

The whole Half Blood Prince thing didn;t grab me -- I kept expecting it to be Neville (you know the similar birthdays, the prophecy etc.)

Oh and does anyone else think the "death" was "staged"? I mean the entire book is spent discussing horcruxes ... dontcha' think the particular character who "buys the farm" would have at least a few dozen horcruxes of his own?

Oh -- and just cause I can -- now that 2 weeks have passed...I think we can allow open discussion of the SPOILERS...but I ain;t gonna be the first

Okay knowing myself not to be much of a reader but one who loves stories. Can someone explain to me a summery of the book? I would like to know for your discussion of it has caught my interest.

I enjoy stories with great passion, but my dislexia has had a negitive effect on my reading making it almost pointless because of it i have an almost impossible time puting writing to my imagination. But when i hear it from someone with a little less inpotence of thought. It helps alot.

Thank you for your time, Bye.

I thought at first the death was staged- impossible how it happened. Detrimental to the plot: Harry's not strong enough to do it alone yet- he needs more training- and he needs Dumbledore's help to find the rest of the Horcuxes. But then I thought about it- there isn't any type of spell that could have been used to fake that. At least none that has been presented. Also, how could Dumbledore know that was going to happen? HE TRUSTED SNAPE!!! He was begging him to help take away the potions effects when he first saw him, thinking he was rescued in a way (because Malfoy definitely wasn't going to do it)

Could it be that Snape and Dumbledore conspired together to stage it in front of the other death eaters to confuse Voldemort??? I don't know. I go back and forth about Snape though. He could be the best double agent ever. Or he could be a backstabbing bastard to kill the one man who trusted him... The author shows both sides. Oh well, I'll wait for the next book. Which should be about 2,000 pages to tie up all the loose ends in one book.

All the horcuxes need to be found, all the relationship problems need to be sorted out Ron/Hermione, Harry/Ginny, Voldemort must be destroyed and we have to find out who beat Dumbledore in finding out about the horcruxes and how in the **** did he do it... All in one book... Should be awesome. But really long.

Anyway the only thing I want to say is WTF @ Ron+Hermione?! I thought forever that Hermione would get with Harry in the end and I thought they would be a great couple. Harry with Ginny??? I guess it works... Oh well I thought the book was awesome- I read it really fast. I really enjoyed it. 10/10.

I finished it a week ago or so, but didn't get around to talking about it. I really want to start off with a what the ****?, just to get that out of the way.

Was the Half Blood Prince thing really worth being the title? It was such a little part of the story, and really not very relevant to the conclusion at all.

JK really shouldn't have let Dumbledore die. Yes, she's been setting up his death for a long time, but the way she characterized him made it completely impossible. Why would such a beast get tricked by Snape? He's not even that sneaky.

Once Harry got completely owned by Malfoy on the Hogwarts Express, I just gave up on him. That was absolutely great ownage, and it made me like Malfoy a lot more.

What kind of a name is Horcrux? Is it the defining point of a prostitute? I certainly don't know.

Overall, it was good, but nothing really happened in it until the very end. All the other stuff was just building to the end, it seemed.

None of you think Dumbledore has a horcrux for himself ?

And of course they set up Dumbledore's death in front of the Deatheaters -- its a great set up

And I always saw Ron & Hermie -- Ginny & Harry works great
