This is a book by 50 Cent, I really liked it. Its a story about how 50 grew up and how he got to be a big time rapper. I think its a really good book next time your at a book store you should look at it. I thought he was a pretty good writer, strange, I never thought he could be a good writer.

I haven't read the book, but I will say that 50 had a co-writer, so he didn't write it by himself. Usually, in these circumstances, the celebrity tells his story to the co-writer and then the co-writer weaves this into a finished product. I do like 50 Cent (among thousands of others from Mozart to Metallica) so has anyone else read this? Worth the $$$?

You know what sucks? People are calling him a bad influence because he is BLACK and is poised with guns and sh!t. Look at arnold shwartzanegger (Yes my spelling sucks :P) and any other big star thats used guns.

The difference is .50 Cent and the rest of the so called gansta rappers it they present their art as reality. They glorify the 'Hood Mentality' and present a somewhat distorted image of the inner city. I could care less about .50 Cent yet I know about him getting shot 9 times. Why is that? Because .50 wanted to present the image that he is a ligitimate 'Street Thug'. He revels in the fact that he wears a bullet proof vest, and roll with a large crew who are all strapped. .50 presented himself as a Thug so it's only natural when people consider him a bad influence (you could arguge what influence good or bad .50 really has on anything)

The controversey over 50 has little to do with skin color. Look an Eminem....he doesn't pose with guns, and he certainly isn't black. As long as people create art that other people feel "crosses the line" or is controversal, they'll be a certain segment of the population that feels they must protest it.

Besides, guess what.....these protests and compliants against 50, or anyone in a similiar situation, do little tpo accomplish anything....except to promote the artist. Controversy sells records, or in 50's case, sells videogames, movies, shoes, water, records, etc! He KNEW, or at least the company promoting the film, knew, that there would be controversy....THATS WHY THEY DID IT!!!!!! Its free advertising.....this is one of those cases where its true that "any publicity is good publicity". Ask 2Live Crew about it....no one knew who they were under a Boward Co, Fl record shop employeee got arrested for selling the album they ruled "indecent"....then they became platinum selling recording artists.

Every time someone gets on the news, in a paper or magazine, etc and tells people how "bad" this or that is, it arouses curiosity......some people, who may or may not have been interested before, WILL go check out whatever it is they are saying is so bad. Controversy is profitable simple as that

Ever heard of a ghost writer? Famous people don't write a single line of their books for the most part, they just sit down and tell a ghost writer their story, who transforms a rough transcript into the finished product. Believe me, 50 cent couldn't write a children's book without some serious help.
