I read alot this one prolly 18 years ago so .......when the movie was comin out I got a copy and and had my son read it also .......he loved it as much as i did .......laughed all the way through it....... I was so glad he did to bc the movie was nowhere as good as the book. He is 14 and into science ....we had alot of fun reading it outloud too.

I own and have read five, didn't know there was a sixth. The first one is great, but it kinda gets repetitive when you read five in a month's span.

This book is awesome, very entertaining. Never got around to the movie though, was it any good?

There is not a sixth book unfortunately.

Douglas Adam's died while writing the final book in the series that would have been the sixth book.

There are 5 books in the series; The HitchHikers Guide to the Galaxy, The Resturant at the End of the Universe, Life the Universe and Everything, So Long and Thanks for all the Fish, and finally, Mostly Harmless.

There is a short story called "Young Xaphod Plays it Safe" that is in the hardcover collection.

There is yet another book, often mistaken as a book in the series, called, "The Salmon of Doubt" however this book is a biography into Douglas Adams life, rather than part of the series.

With all that aside, these books are amazing and I recommend them to anyone that has a goofy or creative side.

I love Douglas Adams. His work has inspired so many!!!!!! including my son

He love to write stories, not bad stuff for 14.

i love douglas adams, and yeah it's a pity the movie wasn't as good as the books but it's hard towork in some of that intelligent humor

any of you guys notice the tons of hitchiker's references in radiohead?
