| Gotz and Meyer by David Albahari, anyone else read it? Written by a Serbian author. It about a man who most of his family was killed during the Holocoust and he begins to research his family tree. He becomes obbsessed with the two SS officers who drove the gas trucks that killed the Jews of Belgrade. Knowing only their names he begins imagine what they were like and making up their history. It goes into gut wrenching detail about one of the less heralded methods the Nazi's used during the holocoust. At times beutifully poetic, other times darkly sardonic, its a fast read. I highly reccommend it.
