Malcolm Gladwell is a guru. There's no other single word that so aptly describes him. He delves deep into the realms of modern business and academia and ties it all together with succint, populist examples.

The book is essentially an expansion of the fields in critical thinking and reasoning. Gladwell deals with instinct: how we can "know" things before being consciously aware of them; before we are capable of describing them critically, and how our inherrent empirical traditions can cloud the often more accurate assumptions we make in the "blink" of an eye.

It's a must-read, and more than that it is essentially an easy read and an interesting one. I breezed through it in a day, and feel totally satisfied that I understood what the man's saying. When an author can delve objectively into a massive variety of deeply contemporary scientific fields and draw his own analogies without contradicting himself in less than 300 pages, you know he's onto something.
