Absolutely stunning! I think it's on the degree-level booklist for English literature these day. I am blown away.

Most human book I've ever read, without a doubt. It's utterly timeless, in its writing style and content. Completely supernatural and yet absolutely human. Great stuff! My new favourite author.

Also, this guy's been writing for the best part of a half a century, now. He's living in Mexico City, I believe, and the novel itself is set in Latin America.

Anybody else had the pleasure of reading it?
