Anybody interested? Heres how it works....

We pick a book to read every month and then at the end of the month we have a group discussion of the book, here on the books section of the 420 Lounge.

Anyone interested, just answer this thread and we'll see how things go from there.......

Oh, and ladies, please feel free to join in and we can choose to read some racy romance novels, perhaps?

Anyway, let's hear from all the reader's out there who are interested. I'm willing if any one else is......

I read so much but often have trouble picking my next one. So this should be a very good way to keep myself on track.

I don't like the romance novels though, grrrr. Except when they describe the chick naked

Anyway, great idea dedbr. Oddly enough, I have to spread rep around before throwing it your way again, but I can't remember giving it to you any time recently. Hmmmm.

Sure!

We'll keep it simple so it's hassle free....

First, it has to be a book we all haven't read, OK?

Second, nothing heavy like War and Peace or quantum physics. We all are busy with our other lives, so best to keep it down to manageability, right?

Third, we all vote on a list of five books to read, and each month, a different member gets to pick the list of books we vote on.

Four, we could rate it on a scale of one to five. The rating system would be used at the end of the year to pick the book of the year!

Five, we meet at the same time once a week in chat to discuss or rant or whatever, but mainly to keep the topic on books and the great mysteries of the herb we call Bud!

Now of course, any of this can be changed to meet anybody elses satisfaction, but it gives us something to start with, and I'd be willing to contribute whatever to help.......

Well, since the next book I was planning on reading was to be 'Catch 22'... I wouldn't mind if that sucker was added to the first list

If not, then I'm gonna read it anyway so who cares.

since I started this, how about this? I will pick the first five books that we will vote on, we vote, read, discuss, rate, then I pick someone to pick the next five, and he picks someone for the next five, and so on, and so on, and so on....

Now I'm not a control freak, so if someone else wants to try this instead, go right ahead.......you won't hurt my feelings a bit......
