My first time getting high was bad also. I was with 3 of my friends in a car late on a saturday night. We found a spot off the road where we could just hang out all night. We had a 12 pack of beer and a quad of Northern Lights (quite abundant in Colorado). We started smoking and we finished it all in about 20 minutes. I had awful cotton mouth so I drank a beer. At first I just thought it was the beer that made me, for the lack of a better word, silly. I was laughing at houses. Houses aren't funny. Then I started freaking out. Every 10 seconds I thought I could see a cop's shadow approaching the car. All my friends were too high to drive, but me and one other friend had beers, and we weren't ever planing to drive that night. I was about 45 minutes away from my house, and about 5 minutes away from my friend's, who hadn't smoked, house. He couldn't sneak out of his house for another hour and I was afraid I had to be home (I didn't). We called him, tried to run around the field to sober up so I could go home. After an hour of freaking out he came and drove me home. When I got inside I talked to my dad (he never suspected a thing) and went down stairs to eat and watch tv. All in all one of the worst nights of my life. I kept on thinking that I would never ever try pot again. Then next saturday comes around and my old friend moves back to Denver and he has pot. I hooked up with two friends I hadn't seen in ages, and had the time of my life at the same time. After that I was hooked on pot (not literally, I just like it a lot). So I say to you, give it another chance, this time do it at home (if possible) then after words take a shower or bath. Use a fruity scented shampoo and have some tea or coffee ready for after. After the shower/bath sit down with a piece of cake or something sweat and drink your coffee/tea and either: watch a movie (I suggest Pi or something like it), watch tv, sit and read (with or without music, I prefer with), or just sit and listen to music. Also something that is better with pot is a cigar. Cigars plain, are, in my opinion, nothing special, but on pot are something that needs to be experienced (again, only if possible). I strongly suggest that you try pot again, as I have never met someone who has tried it more than once and still hates it. Some of the best times of my life were when I was high.

I could never describe what being high is like with as much detail as that.

Even with that, being high is something you must experience for yourself to truly understand...

I just noticed, how did this end up in the book's section?

I once had a friend describe being high as being dizzy without the spins and nausea

I'm not so sure of the "Aloofness of a Cat" thing, but I can relate.
When I'm high, I tend to lose my cynicism.
My brain is usually a stew of discontentment and anger. Too many times I feel like an abused and unwanted child.
Add weed and all of that baggage goes out the window. I feel superior to no one. Inferior to no one and completely free to enjoy the good things that life has to offer. No guilt. No guile.
I can give in to the sunshine and enjoy it, without the misguided idea that I'm wasting my time doing so.
The "mundane" takes on new textures and patterns that are unique, pleasant and comforting.
Nicest thing, It changes the way I see all of these things, for the better, even when I'm not high.
I can laugh at my attempts to be eloquent, so "Screw it! Let's roll another one! "

Maybe because the op found the paragraph from a "book".
