| Seeing imskfan explain her name made me think, what is the best Stephen King book? Iam not sure i can pick just one. I guess there would be a tie"TheStand" and "IT". I also have to give some love to the "Dark Tower books". So what do ya'll think. "IT" messed me up pretty bad for a while. ![]() ![]() ![]()

| I like them all ![]() But I do have favorites. And my all time favorite would be The Green Mile. I am NOT a fan of clowns, so for that reason alone, IT is my least favorite...and it scared the hell out of me. The scariest and most memorable would be Salem's Lot as i was 6 when I saw the movie. Definitely left an impression. |

| My favorite would have to go to It as well. It's a long damn book, with lots of character development, and even a few WTF moments, such as . *spoilers ahead* . . . . Beverly giving herself to all the guys in the sewers. Buh? I mean, iirc, her motivation was to defy her father in the ultimate way, or to show her love for them, but... huh? It was just odd, and seemed out of place to me. . . . . . My second favorite is tied between the Dead Zone and Pet Semetary. I just reread the latter recently and fell in love with it all over again. It's so powerful and tragic... really a great book. I think I heard somewhere that Stephen King felt it was the book in which he was the most sadistic to his characters. I also heard that he said a collaboration between him and Dean Koontz would be impossible, because he's *too* sadistic to his characters. I haven't read any of Dean Koontz, so I don't have experience with that first hand.

| The Stephen King book I like the most is "Insomnia". I'd say my second favorite was the LOng Walk by Steven Bachman. I have read all of his books, especially the later ones and they all can hold a reader...... ![]() Some Where In Ded Land.........................

My favorites are The Shining and the entire Dark Tower series. I liked Roland, I thought he was a badass gunslinger.

| My favorite of his would have to be Pet Sematary. I absolutely loved the part when he is describing the massive pile of branches that blocks the entrance to the burial grounds. It sent chills down my spine. The movie does no justice to this book, although the movie is pretty good. |

| I would say that Misery is one of my favorite Stephen King books. Another is The Gunslinger, and the Dark Tower. But hes a great writer. Ive read many of his books and I am a big fan of his work but i do not like his new stuff, like From A Buick 8. That was just plain garbage
