Default Looking for a new author

Hey I was wondering if anyone could give me any recommendations for a new author to look into, I love fantasy books. Right now my favourite authors are David Gemmell, Terry Goodkind, Margeret Weis, and Tracy Hickman. If any one is into this genre fill me in on some other good books to look into, hell even not from this genre just good books even.

Peace
Justin

Oh! All hail Weis and Hickman! The Dragonlance series is probably one of my favorites for fantasy. How many or which books of theirs have you read?

My husband has really gotten into the Eragon books by Christopher Paolini.

HST, man, will take you into his crazy world...

Great books, but I would try to get one of the compilations, like Death of the American Dream or Hey Rube (if you like sports).

A song of ice and fire by George R Martin is a series my friend absolutely loves. From its description on amazon it seems to be a fantasy kind of book with a real life setting. I don't know if it'd be your cup of tea but it's supposed to be great and I think hbo is making it into a mini series due to its growing popularity.

"The Left Hand of Darkness" by Ursula K. Le Guin

the preface of my book describes it as "a moving, beautifully written, mind-expanding novel" and I couldn't have said it any better. It's more of a science fiction book, but worth checking out.
