    The Pineal Gland

"If therefore your eye be single, your whole body shall be full of light."
    - Matthew 6:22

The pineal gland has been the center for research and studies throughout history. Mystery and myths have surrounded the 'third eye' and there are many references to the pineal gland throughout history. Ancient Greeks believed that the pineal gland in our heads was used as a connection to the "Realms of Thought". Descartes, who was a French philosopher, mathematician, scientist, and writer, called it the "Seat of the Soul".

    What is the Pineal Gland?
The pineal gland is shaped like a pine cone and is about the size of a pea. It is located in the geometric center of the brain between both the left and right hemispheres of the brain. It is tucked in a small "cave" where both thalamic bodies join and is attached behind the eyes to the third ventricle. It is not isolated from the body from the blood-brain barrier systems.

The pineal gland can be seen in some skull x-rays due to calcification. This is typically due to intake of fluoride. Fluoride is found in water and toothpaste. When calcium builds up in soft tissue, it causes it to harden. Studies have shown that calcium affects the pineal gland more than it affects teeth or bone. Phosphorus and calcium in the pineal gland are linked to aging.

The pineal gland is part of the endocrine system in the body, making it an endocrine gland. It releases extracellular signaling molecules. These are known as hormones. The pineal gland releases melatonin, a hormone that affects various parts of the body, regulating sleep and wake patterns, mood, growth, development, puberty, and tissue function.

The pineal gland controls various biological rhythms of the body. It works in harmony with the gland which directs the body's thirst, hunger, sexual desire, and like I mentioned above, the aging process.

There is a connection between the retinas to the hypothalamus. This is called the retinohypothalamic tract. This brings about information about the light and dark cycles to the suprachiasmatic nucleus or SCN.

After sending information to the SCN, nerve impulses move through the pineal nerve and then to the pineal gland. Melatonin is then produced by the pineal gland. When light no longer stimulates the hypothalamus, usually at night, pineal inhibition stops and the production of melatonin is
    then released through the body.

The pineal gland also secretes melatonin during relaxation and meditation when one is practicing visualization. We are created by electromagnetic energy and we react to energy stimuli wherever it may be, and the pineal gland does also.

As you see, the pineal gland is a photosensitive organ. This makes it very important to the human body.

    Ancient Cultures
The pineal gland has been in question for quite some time. The physiological function has recently thought to have been uncovered. Many schools and mystical traditions have known this area of the brain to be the connecting link between both the physical world that we have come to know as our own, as well as the spiritual world beyond time. The pineal gland is considered the most important part of our bodies in initiating supernatural powers as well as the highest source of ethereal energy. Psychic talents have been associated with the wakening of this organ.

Because the pineal gland is located so deep and protected in the brain, some believe that there is an importance of this gland, so important that it has been linked to mysteries and mysticism.

Many believe that it is associated with the sixth chakra. Awakening the pineal gland is linked to prophecy and increased psychic awareness. It is also considered to be linked with consciousness Ascension.

The pineal gland is also referred to as the 'third eye' or 'mind's eye'. It is located in the center of the brain so many people think to the Great Pyramids which are in the center of the physical planet. Strange coincidence being that both the all-seeing eye and the pyramids are on the American dollar bill?

    Activation of the Pineal Gland
The pineal gland is activated by light. Many people have reported feeling a pressure at the base of the brain after having their pineal gland awakened. This pressure can be experienced when one connects to a higher frequency.

It is said that when the pineal gland or 'third eye' is awakened, one is able to see beyond space time into time space. It raises the frequency on which one operates and moves one into a higher consciousness. All forms of out-of-body travel coincide with the third eye. This includes
meditation, visualization, and yoga. Once the third eye is awakened, you will be able to see beyond the physical world.

As one practices opening the 'third eye', it will come more naturally to you if you practice frequently. Dream messages and supernatural abilities will increase. Many begin practicing with their eyes closed but in time and with much practice, one will be able to see into the spiritual world of time space with their physical eyes open.

When the pineal gland is activated, it becomes the line of communication with the spiritual world and those beyond it. The crown chakra moves down towards the pineal gland in a vortex. When the vortex touches the pineal gland, pure energy is received. This pure energy is also called Prana. The more one practices, the higher the vibrations in the body raise and the astral body will then be able to separate from the physical body.

In order to even activate the pineal gland, the pituitary body must vibrate in unison with the pineal gland. This can happen with mediation and relaxation when the personality which operates through the pituitary gland is in harmony with the soul which operates through the pineal gland, a magnetic filed is created.

All forces, both negative and positive form together to become strong and and create a "light in the head". The pineal gland is then active. A person can then withdraw from their physical bodies and carry this light with them into whichever realm they choose to go.

    Astral Projection
Astral projection is associated with this light in the head. After meditation and after the body has completely let go of worldly needs and it's ego, one can try to activate the pineal gland through pure relaxation by staring at the point in the middle of the forehead.

One must first start to feel a withdrawal from his senses as well as a withdrawal from the physical conscious (the ego). Visualize your physical body escaping through a door in the brain.

People who have had near death experiences have experienced astral projection. Many report hearing a "popping" sound when the astral body separates from the physical body.

Visualization is the first step in directing the energy of the body to activate the pineal gland. Once the magnetic field is created, it surrounds the pineal gland. The creative imagination visualizes something and the thought energy of the mind gives it life and direction.

Developing the third eye is very important if one wishes to separate from the physical form. Intuition can also become stronger with third eye development. When the third eye begins to activate, flashes of memory and knowledge of the astral plane will begin to happen. They will become
more and more frequent as the third eye becomes stronger and stronger with practice until universal knowledge is acquired.

When reaching certain frequencies, worldly needs and the ego begin to diminish. This is the 'theta' state which means we are still conscious yet resting while feeling at peace with ourselves. As the brain enters deeper states of consciousness, we begin to become less concerned with the physical world.

    Spiritual Evolution
Humans have been evolving out of matter for quite some time, and are still evolving further and further. We went from spirit to matter, and now we are moving back into spirit. The pineal gland has continued to rise and will eventually bring to humans astral capacities and spiritual abilities.

The vibrations of the planet and the frequencies of the planets have been accelerated at an extremely fast rate, even exponentially, and have allowed souls to look deeper into other times and realms. Consciousness will eventually evolve out of the physical state into a higher, more spiritual state.

    Interesting Thoughts
It is possible that this will take place in the next few years when the fifth sun age ends in 2012. Could this be the prophecy and the new era that the Mayans told us about? Could this be the revelation that the Bible speaks of? The land will not be harmed until all of those with the 'seal of God on their foreheads' are taken away from the Earth. Just an interesting thought.

The eye is the observer of reality or the observer of the illusion of reality. Remember Einstein's quote? "Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a persistent one."

Hey, this is an article that I wrote and I thought that everyone should know about the pineal gland. I'm now sure how many of you have watched David Wilcock's video on YouTube, but it is very interesting and worth a look. I also wanted to state that marijuana increases melatonin levels in the human body up to 4000%, however, it is recommended that marijuana not be smoked in the daytime as melatonin production in the daytime may cause strange effects in your body. Oh well. I only like smoking at night anyway!

I have to agree, that the pineal is probably "The seat of the soul", ive used meditation (third eye meditation, crown, heart center meditations, kundalini)

You have EPIC visions, OMG better then trippin on any drug (then DMT, since the pineal releases dmt, and thats what the visions are from)

heres a quote from a post i made, on a meditation forum, concerning myself and experiences with it..

Hello, to start off i suppose i should give some general information about myself, my experiences, and then my questions... so here goes

Hi, my names Michael, im a 19 year old male, living in the united states.
Ive had a very traumatic life, and have dealt with the pain, and im over pain now, I meditate everyday, and smoke weed, i visualize very easy, and have weird experiences with it....

the experiences im having is..... i used to meditate with my eyes closed... and i started seeing things, they would spin/rotate, it would be a room.... or open space, (and when i had my eyes closed, it would always be spinning clockwise, at a slow pace)... usualy it was dark all around, with just 1color in the images...

then finally i started meditating with my eyes open, as i can finally visualize with them open... (see totaly 3d objects. creatures? and landscapes etc etc.

    the weird experiences/questions are..

whats this feeling of dejavu? somedays ill wake up, and do dream recall.... and... ill just go about my day, and get dejavu feelings and realize, i have dreamed this exact thing before.

i have visions, in the colors blue, red, violet, indigo blue, and white..... i have yet to have a vision in yellow or orange ray

when i have visions, it starts out with 1 color, and then, all the colors join in to make a picture, landscape, creatures, buildings, towns, cities, that i know, arent visually there for others, but are for me. (what is weird is, when i start with the color blue, and all the colors join to make these things, blue is then missing from it.)

My whole life, ive never had a problem with wearing a coat/sweater/all black, in 90-100degree weather, it doesnt bother me, it doesnt make me sweat, and i dont get dehydrated

also ive never had problems with the cold, wearing shorts and a t-shirt in the winter, the cold doesnt make me numb, nor shiver.

I dont wanna say it doesnt affect me, i want to say, i dont pay attention to it.

Pain, i have almost totaly blocked out pain from my brother died, and that was the biggest pain ive ever experienced (when i was 11years old) ive broken my leg, ankle, foot, arm, shoulder, collarbone, and finger, at first, i didnt like pain, then i LOVED it, i wanted to be abused... then, i grew out of that too... and now i dont really feel pain

im not afraid of dominating, or of being dominated

when i meditate with my eyes open, or closed, i do it two different ways
i meditate outside, in the sunshine, with my eyes open...
and i meditate inside, in the dark, with my eyes closed...

there are differences, and there are differences between when i focus on a part of my body, or on my breath, or on sound, or on objects....

when i focus on parts of my body, i see different colors, and feel different vibrations... (IE: blue at throat, indigo inbetween my brow, violet/white at my crown/red at my base....etcetc)

when i see the color and feel the vibrations, it can go 2ways, i can focus on them, and the vibration, and it actually seems to diminish the experience.... but when i live in the moment, and just realize, its there, ok, it becomes, even more intense

when i focus on my breath, its very weird aswell, as i focus on my breath, i focus on my upper chakras, (throat/brow/crown)
what weirds me out though is, when i focus on my breath, it becomes.... shallower, and shallower, until, i breath in for 15-20seconds, wait 15-20seconds (without breathing) then, exhale, wait another 15-20seconds, and inhale again..
im aware of these actions, but i do not try to control them..and sometimes, i just dont breath, i dont even realize im not breathing, until i start concentrating again (instead of just letting it be, flow) then once i become aware of things around/surrounding me again, i realize im not breathing,..

the weird thing is.... when i dont breath, i wont breath for 15-30minutes... it wont hurt me, or affect me... but when i realize im not breathing, that stirs me... and thats when it affects me (mentally) and i become pained, and start straining to breath

i look at anything focused, i see it, unmoving, there, physical... but what is the physical? nothing but waves...

when i unfocus (concentrate, on a single point, anywhere, just let your thoughts go, dont resist them, but at the same time, not pushing them away) i start seeing the whole, shift, move, wave back and forth...

i see beauty in everything living, and non living aswell...
what im trying to ask really is, what does this all mean

i am left handed, i do use the left side of my body more then the right (so that would make me right brained, i suppose...) ive been told that before aswell (about the ajna/crown)...

i have a really good memory, memorizing things usualy after 1look/glance at it, and am able to actually see a 3d image of it, projected in 3d space.... ive heard of that before aswell (which is awesome) but, unlike those people... i havent yet been able to make it visible to others

forgot to mention i work alot in the green ray center aswell.... i dont actually have a good focus (maybe no focus?) on my red/orange/yellow centers (but i cant have no focus on those, for the crown is supposed to open upto the red/blue streaming together..)

I have just read more, and it makes sense too concerning your third eye (Ajna chakra) when you make the connection from the root, you get strong sexual desires (which i was a sex addict for a long time, and now i dont have too many sexual desires anymore) until it evaporates, into the third eye experience

But it is a VERY VERY interesting subject, i think everyone should read about, or try for themselves.

EDIT: dont mean to say i didnt breath for those 15-30minutes, the breathing is just so shallow, you cant notice it, even if you try

I've done quite a bit of reading on this. I've read Rick Straussman's book, which was very intriguing but was a rather unsuccessful combination of scientific and spiritual theory. Two separate books might have been more appropriate. In my opinion, this pineal gland is not the seat of the soul. The soul runs deeper than that. The pineal provides a link, and that is about it. That conclusion doesn't diminish its importance as some sort of connecter to a netherworld, but I am unwilling to throw away all of my science.
I like the segment on spiritual evolution. An intersting thought. I have considered such to be true before, just not in the same fashion.

yes, the soul does run deeper then that, thats why its called "The seat of" the soul
  8. Freedom_User

    Freedom_User ....Is really high

My soul lays on the outer part of my penile organ.

(I'm very high, and when I read it originally as 'penile'. But it's not, but that's my theory. Rub it just right and I'll get to a spiritual realm.)

Well, actually in a way you are correct, there is some use in sexual energy in this

I feel this same thing right before I fall asleep. I'm usually lying flat on my back, then I feel as though I'm floating but at the same time, I am spinning at a slow pace. There is nothing around me, all darkness, and a white bed that I am laying on. My sister said she has had this same experience numerous times except the bed she was on was more of a violet or lavender color.

I've also experienced the deja-vu many, many times. I could be sitting somewhere and realize that I had dreamed the exact same situation. It actually happened today.

just my shitty 2 cents lol

I just think the pineal gland is another life we live in but only subconsciously, when we are using the pineal gland, do you wonder what real life is like in that world? well idk, I have never TRULY experienced it other then my dreams, but like i said, it's sorta how we wish life to be because in our dreams we think up of everything, but does anyone ever wonder what a baby's dream is like since it has no knowledge on most human things like words and creatures? and things they do not know about or have knoweledge on.

I've also experienced this rotation sensation. I've experienced it while going to sleep but I've also experienced it when I first started meditating many years ago. I don't so much notice that sensation anymore when I meditate unless I focus on it. It is interesting.
