I doubt it will sprout but there is no harm in trying.

It might grow, but it has been severely stressed. There's a 50% chance it will grow up to be a male and, therefore, useless. Stressed plants often turn hermi, growing male flowers on a otherwise female plant. The plant would then pollinate itself, producing buds that are half seeds by dried weight.

If you want to produce smokable marijuana, you should plant at least four seeds. The more seeds you plant, the more likely you'll come up with at least one female. With one plant it's 50-50. With four plants it's 94%.

I'm not saying I'm dumb as rocks, but I'm just curious where you got the 94% figure from. Obviously the more seeds you plant, the more likely you are to get at least one female, but a 94% chance of getting a female seems weird. If you plant 4 seeds, aren't your options a 25% chance, 50% chance, 75% chance, or if you're super lucky, a 100% chance?

Then again, I'm no math major. :p

Statistically, your chance is 50-50 with each seed. It doesn't increase your odds to have more seeds. Just because one pops up male, doesn't mean another will definitely be female to even out the odds.

    Plant it

The time spent debating the topic has probably exceeded the time it would take to try and sprout the seed. See what happens, if it's male, pull it up.

I wouldnt use it just a waste of time

I inpsect my seeds under a magnifier,if they are cracked, they are trashed.
I have had as many as 7 males out of 9 sprouts and as few as 3 males out of 9.
I usually end up with 4 or 5 females per 9.

I think I figured out where the 94% came from. The simple calculation comes from a statistics course I took about 10 years ago.

.50 (the chance the 1st seed will be male)
.50 (the chance the second seed will be male)
.50 (the chance the 3rd seed will be male)
.50 (the chance the 4th seed will be male)
.0625 or 6% chance that a sample of 4 seeds would yield no females
.9375 or 94% chance that a sample of 4 seeds would contain a female

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
