| None of that bull**** in that link reefer posted is emo. (EDIT: Except #7, and to some extent #8) Emo began at the beginning of the 90's when some punk/hXc bands delineated from the politically oriented music they played at the time (see: Minor Threat, etc for examples of 90's era hXc) to play music about feelings. One of the first recognized emo bands was Rites of Spring, their song For Want Of is an excellent song to understand emo. Another beginning band was Husker Du. Emo spread out in different ways, such as hardcore emo (Native Nod, Heroin), and emocore, which I don't like. THen with the advent in the mid-90's of weakass emocore bands like Christie Front Drive and Sunny Day Real Estate, emo began its emasculation that has caused the confusion we face today. I can't believe I just wrote all this high, and it seems coherent. Anyways, almost no one understands emo and its denotations, so I hope I have cleared up ages of misconceptions about what 'emo' is. By the way, my PERSONAL interpretation of the modern form of emo, its true evolution, is found in bands like My Chemical Romance, Grade, Alexisonfire, and possibly even bands as hXc-leaning as the Bled and It Dies Today. Emo is everywhere, except where the mainstream culture immersed idiots are looking. |

| as far as i know, its EMO CENTRAL. its ruled by tight panted, straight edged, emo kids that look down in every picture they take and get their hair cut so one side hangs over their eye. HAPPY BELATED 420 !! |

| yeah i'm on myspace. it's actually become pretty addicting. there are some hot chicks on there, but i wouldn't say getting sex is like "cracking a safe". either way, it does seem very emo to me, which i personally can't stand..but worth checking out...btw my username is "professor bonghitz" in case you wanted to know. ![]()

| yea im on myspace and the amazing thing was that after a week of having it "but without getting any friends" i got a bunch of friend requests from people from my old school who i havent seen or talked to in like a year becuase i decided to go to a different high school... difficult decision. so yea its good to get back with old friends, or meet new friends... yes it is emo but not as much as i thought it would be... also a lot of people who like to wear eye shadow or something even when it doesnt belong on that sex. |
