marijuana addicts are real, not in the classic 'must do it or ill be deathly sick' sense but they are still around

Angry Grrr

Even when I was at my most "addicted," when most of my dad WAS centered around getting high (aside from school) it's not like I went out and robbed people. And plus it's not that hard to stop, an "addicts" just gotta make sure he has something else to occupy his mind. When I try to cut down I notice that that works best. If an "addict" has alot of good movies to watch or alot of friends to talk to or a web site to keep up or lots of good food to eat or work or a hobby or sport or video game, just something to keep an "addicts" mind busy. If someone can do that, which should be easy, then they should be able to quit pretty easily.

Default an addict?

"When the addict uses even though he or she promised themselves they wouldn't, this is compulsion."

I've actually had that happen when trying to quit for a while. But only because I wanted to finish off the bag, and after that I went for 2 months without weed.

"Marijuana addicts, in particular, tend to believe that they must be "OK" since there are much worse drugs, and other people whose lives are much worse off as a result of their using. That is denial."

That's not denial, it's true. There ARE much worse drugs and my life isn't bad at all.

"A marijuana addict's life is controlled by marijuana. He or she loses interest in all else, their dreams go up in smoke. Marijuana addiction is a progressive illness often leading to addiction to other drugs, including alcohol. The lives, thinking and desires of marijuana addicts center around marijuana--scoring it, dealing it and finding ways to stay high."

...And the above is just complete and utter bullsh*t

Ugh... just uninformed fools, these people are.

there is a bad side to everything this is also true with weed some people do destroy there lives on weed ,just because it isnt destroying your life doesnt mean someone else has had the same experience think about going to jail, having your kids taken away, all your property confiscated, and people that just sit at home and get high all day then drop out of school at 16 because they cant wake up before lunch time you may be destroying your lives and not even realize it until 10 or 15 years later when you say "d@mn i wish i did something other than get high all day when i had a young healthy body"

Thumbs up

you can find horror stories on just about anything..and it depends on who wrote it...it is there own personel opinion....yea people use statistics to thier advantage and to support there claim.....it has to have crediability as far as i am concerned.....but yes we do have people who cannot handle the high or the responsibility...just like clinton was a very responsible president......

Cool Before you hold your breath and threaten to pass out

Try and realize that link was only one persons adaptation of a summary written for alcoholism....as it's obvious to anyone who has ever heard of, or participated in a 12 step recovery program. It's some good advice for people struggling with addiction,be it thier own ,or a family member..........but this is pot ...addiction to it is much more pliable.......b.s.
