| I just wanted to mention http://www.ottawacitizen.com This is the website of the newspaper in Ottawa, the capital of Canada. On the left hand side they will have a link called "the war on drugs." They probably have a dozen articles concerning Europe, Canada, Columbia, and Jesse Ventura's new book, "Do I Stand Alone." Ventura calls the US narcotics war a failure and calls for the decriminalization for drug use. The Columbian ambassador is going to Ottawa next week to ask for the legalization of drugs in Canada and to try to put an end to the killing of 32,000 Columbians this year and the destruction to the environment and people of Columbia caused by the U.S. eradication program. I would rate this a better read than http://www.cannabisnews.com because it is more news oriented than antedotal. I read cannabis.news everyday, so that is saying something. If you ever wondered why Bill Mahr and Woody Harrelson are for legalizing hemp growing in the U.S. you need to visit this site: http://www.crrh.org It stands for Campaighn for the Restoration and Regulation of Hemp. It is out of Oregon. After reading their website you will come away with an appreciation of hemp. Hemp may be the oldest cultivated crop going back 6 to 12 thousand years. It was dominated clothing until the 19th century and was important in the lives of our European ancestors and was the ingredient that made "gruel." After you read this site you will wonder why America is the only major country where its production is banned. They say it is because of the oil industry and the cotton and wood-fiber people. This is a must see site if you are interested in reform. There is no logical explaination for the illegality of hemp except for corruption by the monied interest. | |
