No. Socialism is different. Communism cannot really exist until all countries are socialist. Communism is the end-product of this, where a central government is no longer needed. Like organized anarchy. And it does not have to be a dictatorship or police state either, it all depends on the way it's constitution is set up. When partys say they are communist, that means they eventually want that end-product, whereas socialist parties (usually) are happy with isolationism, and don't bother other countries aboutturning socialist. Some examples are Norway, Sweden, and sometimes France, depending on who gets elected that year.
