| Heh, the title is a joke... Ok anyways here is the link Well, the same company (Biotech) which headed the project to the sequence the human genome. Is now going to try not too not just modifiy existing organsim's DNA to make them do extra tasks, somthing which genetic engeringing is well known for. But to make an entire organism form scratch, by writing it one DNA letter at a time. This has huge potenital for future medical research, imagin being able to engeriner a organism that you could inject into someone that could go around fighting deadly diseases that the body's natureal immune system can't fight off well such as AIDS, Cancer, heck maybe even extermly advanced diseases like ebola. Who knows what else this could be used for in the future, there are endless possiblities. But one of the most exciting things about it is that we are going to have a better understanding about what life really is, how life gets started, and how it changes. The first article is pretty long, so here is another one that is just a summary and is much shorter. But I recomend reading the long one, because it is very interesting. http://radio.weblogs.com/0105910/2003/03/29.html
