| In this day and age, digital music is all the rage. CDs, iPods, Zunes, MP3s, FLAC, APE, Ogg Vorbis and the ability to carry a library of music in your shirt pocket or lose your music player because it's so damn small that you left it in your pants pocket and it got washed accidentally..... Who else remembers the humble casette tape? http://www.tapedeck.org/ Personally, I used to use these to make mixtapes, or record off the radio or copy my mom's cool old Pink Floyd, Moody Blues and Beatles albums from Vinyl: ![]() They had decent fidelity and were reasonably inexpensive.

| Oh yeah, I used to rock them all the time. FF'ding was a pain in the ass, but the ability to burn of the radio was sweet. Then again, my mp3 player can do that now to. (gotta love creative- Eff you apple )

| I like old-school vinyl, I never liked tapes. When they get old they just sound crappy, records sound old but in a good way. They did make recording easy though. |

| Never really used tapes too much. It was before I really listened to music. My first portable music device was a tape player, but soon after, the cd era emerged. My sister only had tapes, all the old school hiphoppers. I remember her fast forwarding, then rewinding, then fast forwarding, then rewinding, then fast forwarding... then finally found the song hahah.

| They were the thing to listen to music on when I was growing up. I had some records but most of my music was on tape. I used to record mix tapes on cassettes that look just like the picture you have posted. Wow, memories ![]()

| The only tape I own (but may not anymore, I haven't seen it in a while ) is an Offspring tape, Americana. I think I bought it at the time because I was hard up for cash. Or maybe my friend gave it to me after he bought the CD. Dunno. Cassette tapes are superior in one way, and one way only. Durability! You can leave them lying around your room, and not have to worry about scratches or dust. Damn discs... I love you and hate you simultaneously. Oh, just wait until portable flash drives get tiny to the point where their information capacity surpasses DVDs. Of course, then there'd be HD-DVD or Blu-ray to deal with. Which reminds me: god damn sony, trying to push their format (Blu-Ray) onto the market so they can get royalties for anyone who uses it and get rich. Incorporating it to the PS3 was a good idea. And what's with those PS3 commericals? A baby crying? The processor isn't smart if it isn't designed or programmed (you can't even program a processor, as far as I know) with Artificial Intelligence. AI is a tough track, I'm getting my ass beat. If they make intelligent robots, it might be easier to simply allow them to record audio via cassette tapes. Hey, anyone remember cassette tapes?
