If you read the site, it tells you how they created a mechanism to remotely drop the Mentos into the bottle of Diet Coke, and that's what the strings are for. It also creates the domino effect. Frankly, I don't see how that's "cheating", but whatever.

And how would Diet Coke "feed" anyone? It's a beverage, for one. It has zero nutritional value, for two.
