"Slow Poison"


Watching the weather
Watching the weather change
Chest heaving
Observing the rising and falling
Breath lingers

Now rain falls on the garden
The light disappears, returns again
The sun is clear in rising and in setting
Still breathing
Stepping on white flowers by mistake

Now a look to distant clouds
The sun is peaking out
Lying down in the shade of the tree
Breath is freed from its ceaseless tides
