you get us higher and send us on our way.

When lifes troubles get ya feelin small,
you lift our worried minds before we fall.

In times of sickness and in times of health,
your always there sharing spiritual wealth.

When harvest time hits with your big buds bright,
you give us your fruit of which we cherish and delight.

Great power you have for all of the world to enjoy,
but instead you are illegal, the nations biggest ploy.

You heal us and aid those sick and dying,
yet us other folks will go to jail if we bother trying.

If only we could band together once and for all,
we might be strong enough to crumble the prohibitionists wall.

If we envision our world prosperous and economically free,
it should give us the desire to meet our enemies with glee.

If this is a war for the good existence of the average joe,
then why do we ruin his life when we should just tell him no?

I try to stay respectfull of my fellow mans passion and rage,
but your starting to anger me by putting my friends in a cage.

We mean you no harm why is hate all you see,
i cant even drive without someone hassling me.

No you cant search my car, i havent been drinking,
you say you smell pot but i know what your thinking.

Heres another one of those dope fiends on a binge,
your logic is so twisted it makes my soul kinda cringe.

What makes it worse is that it isnt even your fault,
the government enacted the laws, now they are in the vault.

Our very protectors for the sake of our freedom,
pitting us against ourselves, and abusing their kingdom.

This whole situation just causing distress,
our ideas of a drug free nation just making a mess.

The dominos wobble and with haste they fall,
perhaps all these poor decisions wont be here so long after all.

We are slowly uniting and taking back our rights,
dont forget you are the one that started these fights.

We will overgrow the world, and bring freedom here,
no longer will we have to toke up in fear.

But with all of these laws around, i sit happy in a way,
cause everyday i break them, with my Ode to Dan.K.
