FYI: One night my sister and I made a promise to wait for each other after we died...and so this is a little poem about that. enjoy.

My Heaven

What awaits you past the pearly gates?

Me, personally, I’ve got condos--no lie.
My sister promised to build them and wait for me
and my family up in that big blue sky.

Silly? Perhaps.
Reassuring? Indeed.
That little promise is all I’ll ever need.
Because no matter how long it takes,
My sister and her condo will always wait.

You may say, “what happens if they don’t let you past the gates?”
Well then, I’ll just peek through and wave.
Seeing my parents sitting on the condo’s porch drinking diet pepsi,
Behind them, my sisters-having never left me-
busy relaxing in heaven’s sun,
My brother and his wife grilling out for everyone.

Then I’ll yell through those pearly gates,
“My heaven was your promise that you would wait,
and you did, so I’ve got my little piece of heaven
even if they won’t let me in.”

And on they’ll wait
‘til that very day
I walk through and meet them,
enter the condo to stay
in a celestial retreat with them.
More than I could conceive
Of a promise, in which I’ll always believe.

i kept wondering if your sister was still alive though. i expected the poem to say if she was and it didn't go that way. so i assume she alive.

yeah my sis is still alive...she almost died about 2 years ago in a bad car accident though (...there's a poem about that too on here, it's called The Ache). Anyways, she just said that if she died b/f me she'd build a condo and wait for me and the rest of my family...so I kind of envisioned what it would be like and wrote about it.
