Super Woman

As I sit in the corner of the dark room I repeat what my mom had told me earlier until I rationalize it not being true. “Your thoughts are distorted”. The whole concept was such a shock that I had no initial reaction. I just stared at her, clenching my hands, trying to force the idea out of my mind and body.

The blanket that I’ve completely covered myself in holds a false sense of security. I feel protected from everyone and everything that could possibly bring harm to me. But I am slowly losing all control. I’ve lost all possibilities of hope and have no motivation of getting better. And all of this was brought on by myself.

The song on the radio was played at a concert I went to a few years back. As I listen attentively I drift off and become distant form everything around me. I close my eyes and the breeze from the fan is almost the physical sensation of the music on my body. The stronger wind comes with the chorus and I can feel the lyrics as if I am the one they are directed to.

Then as each thought comes into my mind it is sung on the radio. I enjoy the euphoric feeling until I hear a name repeated over and over, said questioning the person’s presence, their existence, my own.


I wonder sometimes how I come up with things like this...maybe I am going insane.
