| A day in 2001 A day when a father would no longer recognize his own son Memories of past, how joyfull he was Now full of nothing but sadness and disgust He had lost the only one For she had died too young, it was not her time, yet it had come And on this day she would not be the only one Endless days spent in despair His life was now heading no where This is not the person he should be Now the joyous boy his friends and family had once known Had grown a heart of stone Days of thought had lead to one decision He would join the 1st infantry division His friends begged and pleaded "Don't do this man, we don't want to lose you too" Yet he only responded "This is something I must do" Today he packed what little he would need For they would supply him with what he must have to succeed Saying his goodbyes supressing the sound of his mothers cries He could not look them in the eye's His fathers last words would remain forever "Revenge is not the way, but if this is what you must do then for you I will pray." Today he would start his journey to become the few and the proud He would remain true to what he had vowed Months of training new skills he was obtaining And new friendships he was gaining For they arrived as individuals and now had become one An unbreakable team working together to accomplish what must be done He never thought his life would lead here A foreign land full of war and fear Always looking over his shoulder Forever uneasy it is here he would grow older A battlefield of bullets astray and blood spray It is this day that he would lay down another friend and pray Yet the sadness did not stay for he was now used to death taking those he loved this way Everyday he fought on for never losing the force that drove him And everyday he would commit another sin Now injuries sustained he would say his goodbyes once again Only now it was to his new found friends He would return home to a new life unknown And every day he would pray for his sins to atone Slowly his heart of stone sheds away to what he had once known |

| Thank you for the welcome Herb Ninja. Appreciate it. Im glad it inspired you. I wrote it partiatly to get some things off my chest but also to help others realise that war is usually not the answer. It only makes things worse. P.S. I was recently introduced to the plant we all know and love, it has truly helped me through some tough times. I only wish I had been intorduced to it years ago. ![]() |

| Tolerance is an unfortunate side effect from smoking marijuana, the later you start the more high you will get in the future. Don't be regretful about not finding it earlier or believing the propaganda about it when you were young, now is the time to embrace it, enjoy it, love it. Keep it discreet, wouldn't want you to get caught. Please do visit the other forums, world in crisis often has some hardcore political debates, the music and gaming forums are good places to talk about related hobbies, and the places and people forum has a thread about getting to know eachother better, I recomend you search that one out and post there. Ohh and I recomend you check out THIS link, lets just say its a must see. ![]() |

| Cool poem man, It's remembrance day today and it seemed to fit kind of with the theme of today. Wierd, I didn't notice this earlier. Almost like some wierd cosmic timing. <~> Yah, don't worry about not finding it earlier, everything happens at the right time for the right reason. Almost like me not finding this around when it was posted ![]() Thats an awesome poem though.
