I do spoken word poetry, and was asked to do a piece for my biology class in college.. this is what I came up with while in my red-eyed prime

Homeostasis
Say man, have you got change to spare a quarter? Sir, sir, it's like I told you.. it's too late to change your order. Shift gears, change lanes, as I change minds with every line that I rhyme. It's time to change, but if we change times it's the same thing every time. Change is constant but homeostasis keeps belting sonnets. Injecting sleeping gas to get your head noddin', oxygen depletion gets you yawnin; then pinch a nerve to keep sleep from falling. Turn the dial on the thermostat, switching the feeling of your habitat, you start sweating like an acrobat, or spin the dial to the other half. Turning blue as a smurf, can you imagine that? Our blood retreats within the lipids. Holding down warmth like it's a small business, then you start to shiver to create some friction. Moving on to a story of fiction we see bruce lee in a fight against 10 henchmen. His only chance of winnin' is through this rush of adrenalin. And if you doubtin' bruce... man, you got to be trippin. He's making them bleed like some menstruating women. He's giving them hell, causing welps of white blood cells screaming for help. They'll never know what hit him like he casted a spell. Knocking them on their gluteus maximus, blood rushing from their heads to their asses, this biology track is for the masses. My rhymes so potent it's causing your mind neurotic reactions, and it's happenin' whether you like it or not. These words are revolutionary like an outbreak of small pocks, and it stops........ just as quickly as it came. Because homeostasis, ho-meo-stasis, homy-dont-stasis, HOMIE DON'T PLAY THAT. Face it, you can't change it. It's the thesis of life that makes us. Even when dissected to pieces homeostasis is what keeps these beautiful brambient bodies breathing. Leaving reason like some speeding heathen demons. Preceding meaning like a mother needing a baby teething. Leading seasons to leaving. Teasing death around every shift and every turn, and you can put this track on repeat until Jesus returns.
