This was a poem I had to write for school. It had to be about a color. Most people made theres rigid and concrete, but I tried to make mine more abstract. Tell me if you like it and I'll post some more of my stuff.....



Black,
The smell of decaying death,
Darkness and shadows,
Sadness, loss
Silence



But with the black of night,
Comes cool night air,
And promises of hope and better times,
Since light always follows the darkness.

But for now there’s emptiness and death,
And the sounds of the night fill my head.
The fire is gone and only the smell,
Of charred wood and smoke remains.

But just as day follows night,
The night always swallows the day,
Turning daylight to gray.
Its black cloak covers all,
Turning life into death.

The roses now bloom black,
And the blazing fire turns to dark stone.
The world freezes,
But before it can swallow me,
I wake up,
Starring onto the night sky.

Just as the cycle of the days is perpetually changing,
So are our lives.
In one moment life can change,
From ecstasy to pain.

We must remember although life will go on,
Its days our numbered,
Because you can’t outrun the reaper.

With his black cloak and eyes,
He holds the key to our hearts~

that was awsome! I can relate to black considering I'm in antarctica and just went 5 months with no sunlight!
