| Inspired by SmokeTwoJoints' rework of the lyrics of Frosty the Snowman on the thread "My Stoned Creation" in the Art & Photography section (check it out- cool snowman, too), this thread is for people to parody the lyrics of any christmas carol (or otherwise wintery song, like Let it Snow) to be marijuana related. Here's my first: We twa hae smoked in the braes, And ground the buds so fine, But we've puffed mony a schwaggy joint, Sin auld lang syne... We twa hae toked i' the burn, From morning bake till dine, But the pipe hae broke in twain, Sin auld lang syne... So here's a puff, my trusted friend, And gi's a puff of thine, We'll take a hit of kindness yet, For the sake of auld lang syne... Should old tokers be forgot, And ne'er brought to mind? Should old tokers be forgot, And the days of auld lang syne? For auld lang syne, my dear, For auld lang syne, We'll take a hit of kindness yet, For the sake of auld lang syne... ... well, it seems like a cool idea to ME, at least... |

| It's Auld Lang Syne, and old scottish folk song finalized by Robert Burns in the latter half of the eighteenth century. It's usually sung at New Year's, especially at the big city festivals like at Times Square, and at many other New Year's parties. Most people only know the ending: Should auld aquaintence be forgot, And ne'er brought to mind? Should auld aquaintence be forgot, And the days of auld lang syne? For auld lang syne, my dear, For auld lang syne, And we'll take a cup of kindness yet, For the sake of auld lang syne... Auld lang syne translates to "old long ago" or "the good old days." It's a song about rememberance, and I like it a lot... one of my favorite holiday songs. |
