The sun gripped down on the dead man's eyes
and it took a while for me to realize

the sun would shine before the moon should come
but also after would shine brighter for some

if you're not alive today you may be dead tomorrow
if you're happy today then tomorrow may bring sorrow

the past is forever and the future's always winding
and the present does not exist is what I have been finding

so most of us can easily skip our lives
before you know it you've gone and drifted up to the skies

sometimes I hate what's done to me but I just try to know
that the best philosophe is easy come, easy go

and if it's not easy, make sure your loss outweighs your gain
although I know that scale can sometimes be hard to maintain

a dime is a dime and money can be cold
but time is a currency that can never be sold

next time you misstep and you trip and you fall
don't you dare expect to hear the voices call

see all of your actions are cause for concern
as they command your life and the lessons you learn

if you don't learn from what you're being taught
then go back to preschool because that's all that you've got

what's the deal with the people that just don't get it
they get pissed for no reason and I just try to forget it
I mean it starts to get to me though I try not to let it
I try to avoid hatred even though I have met it
