| Turkish Delight 1 package of mini marsmallows (about 5 1/2 cups) 1 cup raw whole almonds (or 1/2 cup chopped) 1 cup golden raisins 1 cup dark raisins 3 tablespoons honey 1/4 tsp cinnamon 1 teaspoon of vanilla 1/4 cup cooking oil (corn oil, vegetable oil) 4 tablespoons (at least) of cannabutter Utensils: Microwave Large micrawave safe bowl Large mixing bowl large heavy fry pan wooden spoon Food chopper/processor with chopping blade (or Blender that can chop) large square cake pan (brownie pan) usually 9" by 9" 1. Pour cooking oil into square pan and spread around bottom and sides. Allow extra oil to remain in pan. 2. Chop up almonds until consistancy of very grainy sand 3. Heat pan over medium high heat, pour ground almonds into pan. Do NOT add any oil but stir the almonds on the hot pan with your WOODEN spoon for about 15 minutes. Keep stirring, you are tosting the almonds and do NOT let them burn! 4. Remove almonds to mixing bowl. 5. Chop golden raisins into smaller pieces, andadd raisins to almonds. Chop dark raisins into smaller piecesa and add to almonds. Mix almonds and raiins together... Use clean hands to get this touroughly mixed together. 6. Place cannabutter in microwave safe bowl and microwave on high for 30 second to a minute until butter is just melted, remove from microwave. 7. Add marshmallows to cannabutter in microwave safe bowl and return to micrwave. Microwave on high for 60 seconds, stir marshmallows, microwave for 30 to 60 seconds more, remove and stir marsmallow and cannabutter until smooth. 8. Add marshmallow cannabutter mixture to almond/raisin mixture and using your wooden spoon fold the almond mixture into the marsmallow mixture. You need to do this fast as the marshmallow does thicken quickly! 9. Add honey, vanilla and cinamon and continue to stir. 10. Pour entire mixture int square cake pan and press out towards the edges. Mixture will settle into pan. 11. Let set in fridge for an hour. Serving: Slice into 1" X1" sections. You can roll each piece in powdered confectioners sugar or serve them just as they are. Depending on how strong the cannabutter you used, expect 30 minutes before feeling a response and do NOT eat the entire batch in one sitting ... hunger pangs should start about 30-60 minutes after eating.Enjoy! | |

| Before I comment on the quality of this recipe, let me tell you how I altered it just a little bit: Instead of using two cups of raisins, I used a cup each of dried pineapple and dried cranberries (a mixture of plain and orange Craisins). It seems reasonable that you could use pretty much any dried fruit and nut combination you wanted; next time, I'm thinking of experimenting with blueberries and macadamia nuts, among other things. Also, I used maybe about an extra tablespoon of cannabudder, which I made by cooking about a 1/4 cup herb with 1 stick of butter. It was my first time making cannabudder, and I was very uncertain about acheiving satisfactory results, but this turned out to be a pretty nice concentration. I prepared this recipe when a friend of ours flew in for the weekend. While my husband went to pick him up from the airport, I started cutting up the chilled recipe, and rolling them in powdered sugar. I could not BELIEVE how amazing this recipe turned out to be. It was delicious; no strange taste from the budder at all. The toasted almonds lend a delightful character to the overall flavor. As I cut the stuff up, I ate about 1/4 of the tray. I didn't feel anything at all at first, (I know, I know, you said to wait 30-60 minutes...) so I just kept eating it. Meanwhile, my husband and friend returned home, after having smoked all the way back from the airport. When they walked in, I suddenly realized I was unbelievably high, and they couldn't believe I hadn't smoked anything yet. I didn't smoke a thing that day---I only ate this Turkish Delight. Man, I know the recipe said not to eat the entire pan in one sitting...but I kind of thought you were just being funny. As it happened, I consumed nearly half the batch by myself. And I have never been so stoned in my life. At one point, I couldn't even get off the couch...I was in a ball, laughing so hard that I began to cry. Then I couldn't breath. You need to understand this, Man, I went the other side. I'm not sure I'd ever want to go there again. BE CAREFUL when eating this stuff! I started eating about 11:00 am, peaked (the unfortunate incident on the couch) about two and a half hours later, and after that, maintained a nice, heavy stone until about 8 or 9 pm. In the next week or so, I'm going to be making a couple batches and sending them some of my dear friends up North as a Springtime treat. Good stuff. Good stuff! Thanks, Mamabudz. An ingenious concoction. |

| Some extra hints I've added over time: PAM -- spray oil -- is our friend ...helps to be able to cut the nougat out of the pan Absolutley try this with your favorite dried fruits and nuts -- dry fruit because "wet" fresh fruit adds too much liquid to the mix. I think a Southern version with Pecans, dried apples and perhaps a bit of brown sugar would be awesome. Glad you enjoyed it! Hugz, Mama Budz | |
