I was told that this one guy, who was being watched by the Feds, took his stash and soaked it in rum (so it would stay fresh) for about a month while buried in his back yard. When he took it out and smoked it, it was the sh1t.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone had tried this, and if it was any good.


Postscript - Sorry if this isnt in the right forum. I figured marijuana could go with rum so eh.

Actually the marijuana would be almost useless and harsh to smoke. The active ingredients(thc etc)are alcohol soluble so the thc would eventually leak out into the rum thus the marijuana plant matter would be rendered thc depleted and useless to smoke. So no the alcohol does not preserve ganja. Now don't get me wrong that rum would be straight for drinkin'.(Search:Green Dragon).

See I already put the weed in the rum in this small bottle, about 2 ounces of weed. So should I just drink EVERYTHING in the bottle?

Any idea if it will get me higher?

Let it soak for a few days for the best effect. Then pour the rum thru a strainer so the weed is seperated out. Drink the rum. Throw out the weed. All (or most) of the THC is extracted from the weed to the rum, so the weed is useless. If you really want, you could dry out the weed and try to smoke it, but it would probably suck. As hauptmann said, the THC is absorbed into the alcohol.

The rum will probably taste different so you may want to mix it with something. Try some shots first though.

Be careful: the weed will take longer to take effect (about 30-60 minutes) so don't drink too much. When it hits, you'll be drunk and high.

I only put like maybe an ounce or two of the weed in this small medicine bottle (average size of PRESCRIPTION medicine bottle) and filled in 1/3rd of the way. Will that funk me up or do I have to add more?

You're right. It was my mistake. By "ounce" I meant a "nickel bag". Hehehehe. Sorry buddy. I will probably get banned for this.

Woah! Big difference between ounce and nickel bag (~ 1 gram). It will probably not fu*k you up, but at least give you a good buzz.

Try this amount and see what the effects are. Increase dosage next time if you like it. If you don't like it, you've only wasted a gram.

in this case, there will be no way you'll be able to get high off it, hell yuo wouldn't even get drunk from enough rum to be put in a medicine bottle
