| This is a Weed Tea recipe that I came up with for a friend of mine who wanted to try pot, but refuses to smoke it. I see that several people here have requested a good tea recipe, and I promise that this one delivers the affects you desire, and a very pleasant taste! For this recipe, we'll be making two cups (16 fluid ounces of tea, or two servings). This is what you'll need: Milk - 1 cup (Half and Half works best as it's fatty and tolerable to drink) Tazo Chai Liquid Chai Mix - 1 cup Weed - 2 to 3 grams Double Boiler setup Now that you know what you need, let me explain more about these requirements. The THC sticks to fat, so you should avoid using low fat or skim milk. I use half and half, because it's got plenty of fat, and it's still relatively thin. If you can tolerate whole milk, go for it. What the fuck is Tazo Chai liquid Chai Tea Mix? Well, it's a liquid that you mix with milk to produce a tea that taste kinda like a pumpkin pie or gingerbread cookies. You can find it at Kroger, and it looks like this: ![]() I like about 1.5 grams of bud in my serving. If you haven't consumed weed orally before, you might want to start with just 1 gram. As for the double boiler setup, you don't have to have any specialty equipment. I use a large boiling pot, with about 2 inches of water in the bottom. Then, inside that, I have a ceramic cereal bowl. I keep the cereal bowl out of direct contact with the bottom of the boiling pot by using 3 or 4 balled up pieces of aluminum foil. The idea here is that the steam will gently cook the milk in the ceramic bowl for a long period of time, without over cooking it. (which could cause the dreaded constipation). Make sure the large boiling pot has a lid, steam is key. Here's what you do: Pour the cup of milk into the ceramic cereal bowl (which should be in your double boiler setup, right? ) Grind up your 2 or 3 grams of pot, very finely, and put it in with the milk. Now put your double bowler on the stove, and cook it for about 20 - 25 minutes. You'll want it hot enough to make the milk slightly simmer (not boiling harshly, just perhaps producing a bubble or three every so often). Do make sure the water is producing copious amounts of steam. After 20 to 25 minutes, your milk will have taken a very light green color. Remove the bowl from the large boiling pot, and allow it to cool. When cool, use a mesh strainer to remove all the little weed particles. Strain the milk straight into a measuring cup that can hold at least 2 cups of liquid. You may notice that you don't have an entire cup of milk anymore. The boiling evaporated some of the milk into steam, just add a little more milk to make sure you sill have 1 cup. Then add 1 cup of the Liquid Chai mix into your measuring cup. Stir, and serve ![]() |

| I like this recipe. It's very easy for almost anyone to gather said ingredients from any local supermarket. I have seen that tea myself actually! Good call on using the half-and-half. Perhaps whole milk has a higher fat content? I'd cringe at suggesting buttermilk, but how about pure "cream"? I'm not really sure how much fat is needed for the amount of THC you are using to not be wasting any. I, however, believe half-and-half would be plenty fatty. Cheese cloth should also be considered (I know it's a bit more exotic)...but that way you can manually (with your hands) literally SQUEEZE any last bit out. If I did this recipe, I'd put the weed in a sachet of cheesecloth tied w/string and let it simmer at a low temp (keep in mind at what temps destroy THC/Cannabanoids!) in the half-and-half for a LONG time (were talking 12 hour or so)..a Crock pot on low would probably work just fine! I'm paranoid and want to just make sure all the chemicals were absorbed by the lipid (fatty) molecules. . . A crock pot also maintains a constant temp... But all in all, great recipe! I look forward to hearing others take on it and their experiences!

| A crock pot would do nicely, especially if you were making...Say a party sized batch ![]() Cheese close is a good idea for straining. I also like to squeeze out every last bit. I've emptied tea from tea bags and just tied them up with pot in it, and thrown it in the milk. By the way everyone, stay away from coffee filters. It's just....Too hard to get a coffee filter to get good liquid flow. |

| Great instructions! I can't wait to try it. FYI half and half is a mixture of milk and cream and has a higher butterfat content than whole milk. |

| I find that a reusable coffee filter works great for straining.

| This sounds so delicious! I am looking forward to being able to try it. I think this would be something good for me to do for my first time puting it into food/drinks. It seems like one of the more simple recipes I've seen. Thanks! |

| This is a great method of extraction, and I use buttermilk by adding real butter. So I mix whole milk with a pad of real butter. I cook it for usually 1 1/2 -2 hours at the lowest simmer in a double boiler. After strained I either drink it by making tea or add it to muffin mix or similar. So yummy! I've added the buttermilk, hot, right from the stove to a couple packs hot chocolate or some coffee and cocomix. Whatever, once it's extracted into the milk you can do whatever you want with it! I always put the strained plant matter into creamcheese and let it sit in the fridge for a couple days or week. Put it on my bagel and Im high in the am, Or i'll add it to fatty yogurt or pudding. Thanks for sharing Sinore, good stuff! Gotta love cooking it... |
