So we got a plant given to us that didnt grow quite big enough to bother with...we cut up all the buds, leaves and stems into a large bowl. Not sure the exact amount we got of everything...probably safe to say there was at least 4oz. So we melted down 4lbs of butter in the crockpot. Then we added the entire bowl of stuff, put the crockpot on low and let it do its thing. it got to a small, simmer-type boil..we then turn it down to the "keep warm" setting...where it stop moving at all..lol. so then we kept turning it back and forth between low and keep warm...for about 24hrs. Thinking that "the longer the better". We then strained it all through cheesecloth into containers, and put them in the freezer to get hard. We put some water on the butter and put them back in the freezer to seal it so it lasts longer. The next day i made brownies with the butter....my husband tried a couple itty bitty brownies, and wasnt sure if it worked or not...lol...is there anything in our process that could cause them to be something other than "special"? lol.help??

clearly your weed went wrong because the way you make it sound is like that plant was barely near any maturity. simple enough you start out with bad bud you get bad butter.

you're supposed to add the butter to slightly boiling water to melt the butter then add the weed in and simmer them together.

It's not an exact science.

How much did your husband use? If the plant didn't have enough psychoactive material to begin with, nothing in your process of making cannabutter would somehow increase it's potency.

I'd suggest doubling the dose and seeing what happens then get back to us...

There's a few things you did wrong.

First, Im guessing you didn't let the plants dry. You're not going to get much potency out of them if you don't....
Second, your plants were probably not even close to being mature, meaning it's very weak. If a pound or so of butter is good for 1 ounce of good marijuana, 2 lbs. should be good for 4 ounces of weak marijuana.

And, well...your husband only tried two smallll brownies.You can't expect to get much of an effect if you use weak marijuana, and you don't try a proper dose.

ok...so i gave a couple friends some to try..and they said they are good...just need to take more at once...they only took 3 small ones...they got a little buzzed....so...i need to make bigger brownies! yay!!lol
