so one of my friends recently came into posession of somewhere around a pound to a pound and half of trim. Its already been ground up and is pretty much just powder weed at this point. He plans on trying to make canna butter, but we both know that the huge amount of smell is going to be a issue. We were just wondering If there is any way of not letting the smell float over to other neighbors, without stinking up the house.

Another thought i personally had would be driving somewhere very secluded and making it on a camp stove, any input or advice on this?

As long as you don't have parents that are coming home, that is, assuming this is your place, the possibility of the neighbors smelling you cooking up cannabutter are pretty much nil (well, depends on the proximity of your houses). Open a window if your really paranoid and turn on a fan or two. The smell is similiar to cooking anything in your house -- garlic bread, bacon, eggs, your house will smell like it, but your neighbors won't.

This is possible, but maintaining the right temperature might be tough, it could fluctuate and you might burn it.

Maybe a Crock-pot might be the best alternative? I've heard good things...

Is the trim high quality? Maybe you want to sift the thc trichomes before actually making the butter. Certain cannabanoids might be lost but a lot of the smell would be cut out, not to mention a whole lot of mess. Maybe instead of cannabutter cold-water extraction hash might be a better solution?
