| Hi, I have baked with weed before, but not a lot. I was young and stupid, and I usually only used a quarter of weed or sometimes a half-oz, but I never made cannabutter with it, I would just throw it in food and of course, the high was never that great. But now I've been doing some research, and I want to make WEED SUGAR COOKIES! I am going to roll out dough, add green food coloring, and I just got a weed leaf cookie cutter. It'll be great if the cookies actually "work." I am using an ounce of weed for this first try. I don't have a crockpot or double boiler. I have seen some videos on youtube where they just low-boil the butter, water and weed. Is this okay because this is what I am planning to do? I know there are lots of threads on cannabutter, but I am paranoid about wasting weed, and just want to know if what I'm about to do is correct. So could you culinary experts please read over my recipe, and let me know if I should do anything differently? Thanks! So this is the recipe I am going to follow... first the cannabutter: "1. Put 8 cups of water and add "1 stick" (aka 1 pound, 451 grams) of UNSALTED butter. Bring it to a boil. 2. Reduce heat to a light simmer. 3. Add 1 ounce (28 grams) of weed that has been ground with a coffee grinder. 4. Cook at a light simmer (low boil) for 45 minutes. (Cook for 90 minutes if using 2 ounces of weed). You should still see small bubbles. Stir every 2 to 3 minutes. 5. Strain well through a piece of cheesecloth. Throw out the plant material. 6. Let the drained mixture cool to room temperature (about 45 mins), the put in the fridge for approx 3 and a half hours. 7. Lift the chunks of butter off the top with a spatula and put them in a bowl. Throw away the green water. 8. Put the butter in a tupperware container and leave out until it warms to room temperature and is soft. (Should make approx. 3/4 cup of cannabutter)" Now the sugar cookie recipe: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a medium mixing bowl, beat together 1 cup softened butter, 1 1/2 cups confectioner sugar, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 1/2 teaspoon almond extract and 1 egg, until well mixed. In another medium bowl, whisk together 3 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon cream of tartar, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Stir just to combine, and add to the first bowl. Add green food coloring to the dough and beat everything together. Divide the dough in half, cover both halves in plastic wrap and refrigerate for half an hour. Roll the dough to 1/4" thickness on a lightly floured surface. Dip the cookie cutter into flour and cut the dough into weed leaf shapes. Place them on baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle with granulated sugar then bake at 375 degrees for 7 to 8 minutes or until the edges are light brown. Makes 4 to 5 dozen cookies. Hopefully these recipes are right, I found both of them on youtube. Let me know if I'm missing anything or if anything is wrong in it, please! |
