Hey Guys,

I had recently stumbled onto the message boards, and although Arsenal highlighted a lot of key points, there is still a few more things to remember / consider when you are on your venture to make Cannibutter or Oil, and how to make it the best possible. I was diagnosed with bleeding ulcers last year, and although I was already a smoker, it caused me to start taking the culinary approach, which worked wonders on my tummy, especially with the high fat content of all the baked goods.

Ingredients:

• When I make butter, i usually use trimmings (Freezer Bag Full), but on occasion i do actually use buds (Half oz, finely grounded), What you use dosen't matter, BUT, there is more thc content in the actual flowers. So if you have access to trimmings, prepare to use more.
• Butter, Oil: When i make that much, ill start out with 2-3lbs of butter or approx 4-6 cups of oil, use your best judgement!
• When making butter only, i use water in the pan as well, it helps circulate heat, and it makes the cooling process unbelieveably easy.

THE SCIENCE OF IT ALL

Alright guys, I hate to take you back to school, but there is a few important things to think about when making your bounty.

• THC burns off at 180 degrees farenheit (82C). not immediately in a flash of light, thats just when it starts to happen.
• Water boils at 212 degrees farenheit (100C) That being said, you should never want to see your butter boil, ever. Simmering is okay, but what your aiming for is the tiny concurrent bubbles of a light simmer. (A Crockpot on low is a great way to avoid this)
• Butter is an emulsion of fat in water - thus boliling starts at about 212 degrees farenheit (100C). As it is not pure water, but solution of proteins, salts and hydrocarbons its boiling point will be higher (but 230-245 looks more or less probable). However, once the water is removed second boiling point is possible - when the fat itself starts to boil. But organic fats have tendency to decompose before boiling.
• THC is only soulable in a fat or an alcohol. Most people know this, but if it can't properly mingle with the fats or alcohol, the transfer is pointless (Grind your shit!)
• Cook times vary from person to person, I personally usually cook for about 5-6 hours, we're shooting for a low heat exposure over long periods of time, imagine bbqing.

ADVENTURES IN BAKING

Hopefully we both have a nice batch of green gold, and are ready to spend our afternoons zoned out on the couch. Here are some things I did wrong so you wont either:

• If you have a good cookie recipe, dont try to be a hero and add more butter to the recipe, to yeild more potent cookies, you will end up with cookies that are too runny, and will burn way too fast, potentially frying all that great thc you just spent all day working on.
• I only bake when i'm baked: I.E. probably set a timer, reminder, etc. Nobody likes burned food.
• If you happened to make a whole bunch of butter, dont try to make brownies with it, they turn out pretty terrible, apparently they ask for oil for a reason.
