Ive read in a couple threads that people have made cannabutter or oil with a crockpot. Can someone elaborate on the method and steps on how exactly to do this?

48 oz oil, 1 oz of weed, put it in a 2 qt crockpot on low for 6-7 hours, let cool, filter and use in place of oil in recipes. Or so I've read...

You may be right, I got those figures in another post. 48 oz is 6 cups of oil, after all. After looking through different posts some people use 4 oz to a 48 oz bottle, so averageing one ounce per 1.5 cups of oil and having it come out pretty potent, so they say.

Crockpots aren't terribly different, just need longer periods of time to achieve the same results. The biggest thing about butter is keeping it from burning. i once made a dish called Poor Man's lobster which uses a large ammount of butter in a crockpot. I let it run too long and the butter burned and the whole dish tasted aweful!
