Good Riddance

Im just wondering if you save up enough stems could you grind them up and then eat them, and would they have an effect on you?

Stems=bad.
Don't smoke em, don't eat em. I chew on some of them, some have a nice KB taste. Not sure if chewing on them does anything though.

I know not to smoke them (any stoner does) and I know that you would have to eat a large amount, I'm just wondering on the amount. Im sick of paying for weed, getting stems, and throwing them away, it seems like a waste. Usually in a 1/4 oz I usually get 1 gram upwards to 1.5-2, so I just want to know if its worth my trouble to store the little pointy things.

When you have no smoke you'll try just about anything .. I've done it and I'm sure alot of others have as well.. They kind of tasted like burnt hot dogs to me (weird huh?) and they didnt do anything but burn my throat and tasty really horrible and made me want to puke but anyway to answer your question I really dont know .. but I don't think they would do anything and as Dr said I also chew them .. they are really tasty sometimes if you get a big bud

Stems contain about 2% THC while the buds contain about 9-15% THC depending on potency. I remeber panama saying that you would need about 5 ounces of stems in a batch of brownies to give you a high. Stems just have such low THC that they are pretty much next to useless. I like chawin on a stem after smoking, and one time a friend and I ground some up and seasoned a chicken breast with them, that was tasty.

I just got a beautiful batch of Northern Light. Brings tears to my eyes just thinkin of her. Anyway, if you have very high potency weed you can see the THC crystals all over the buds. I found two stems with crystals on the tip and areas near the actual bud. I chewed on those for a long time. It could have been a freak accident (the crystals sticking to the stems) or it could be normal. Either way it is worth checking the stems for crystals before you pitch them.

Save your stems until you have a sandwich baggie full of them. Keep them in the dark in some sort of container. Grind them to a fine powder with a coffee grinder. Pour the powder into a Pyrex bowl with a lid. Pour Acetone over the powder until there is about twice as much acetone as powder. Let sit ffor anywhere from 24 hours to 5 days depending on how potent you want them. Make sure to check the level of Acetone every day and add some if needed. Keep the acetone at the same level until you are ready to end the soaking proccess.

When the powder is done soaking, pour the liquid through a wire mesh screen into another Pyrex bowl. Try not to pour any of the powder out of the bowl. It should be collected on the bottom separate form the now green Acetone on top.

Evaporate all of the Acetone from the bowl with a hair dryer in a **WELL VENTILATED ROOM**

You should be left with globs of sticky black goo in the bottom of the bowl. This is Hash Oil. You can either smoke this by freebasing it, dipping your buds in it, or dipping your rolling papers in it. Mmmmmmmm. It will set you straight.

I forgot to add that a sandwich baggie full is the smallest amount you want to use. The more you use, the more potent it will be. Also, as you pick the buds off the stems to pack a bowl or roll a joint, dont try to get every single little piece off. Leave some small stuff on the stems and it will make it a lot better. And dont use seeds, they just make the oil nasty tasting. The acetone should be pure, you can find it at Wal-Mart and Home Depot in the solvents section.
