| Mama Budz E-Z Recipez ![]() Browniez from Mix What you will need : One stick Fleischmann's margarine to replace (just seems to work best) One or two FRESH eggs or a container of Eggbeaters One box Brownie Mix (My fav' Ghiradelli) * Anything Else your Pkg Requires 2 tblspoons to 1/8 cup (or more G_d bless yah) of pulverized -- almost powdered-- herbal substance As you wish Frozen M&M, mini marshmallows, nuts, reeses peeces, whatever Equipment you will need: Stove or hotplate Oven or Toaster oven large enough to hold a 9 x9 inch pan Electric Coffee grinder (Go On Splurge! Who deserves it more than you? After all You are making these to Enjoy with friends and Every Time you Use the Grinder You'll have a happy memory Attached -- And its like $16 at Walmart so you don't have to feel guilty ) OVEN MITTS or DRY TOWEL Tablespoon Mixing spoon (wooden if you have it) Measuring Cup (pyrex 1 cup) Large Bowl Electric or Manual Hand (Egg) Mixer 9x9 inch pan (aluminum from the store works 2 feet of aluminum foil Ziplock bag Directions: Over medium heat, slowly melt entire stick of margarine Turn on oven as directed on box to preheat (325 or 350F) Prepare your 9" square pan (usually you just need it to be clean and dry) By now your margarine is melted. Carefully sprinkly your herbal over the pan onto the melted margarine. If it is dry it shouldn't splatter, but be careful. Quickly move the herbal around in the pan keeping it moving for about 3 minutes...The herbal will send up its most delightful scents so be sure to stand really close and breath deeply. About now you should notice little wisps starting to come off the pan. Ahhh... it's done. using your Oven Mitt, grasp the pan and pour as much of the melted margarine into the measuring cup as possible. Put the pan on the a safe heat resistant spot. If necessary, place pan on top of oven mit, turn of stove or hotplate. Your heated (activated) herbal should be mostly in your pan. Now prepare your mix as directed in your big bowl using your mixer or big spoon or whatever and when it says "add oil"...add the same amount of melted margarine as they ask for oil. Now tot he mix add all your goodies...frozen M&Ms, marshmallows, nuts, whatever & the Cooled herbal from the bottom of the pan you melted the oil in. You may want to poor all the melted margarine into the measuring cup at this point and really give the botom of the pan a good scraping with your spoon. And strain the margarine for bits of herb. BTW... save the margarine, which will reharden in the fridge, for garlic toast or pasta or frying eggs. Quite nice. Now bake your bownies. Be aware your home will reek of chocolate and pot for at least two days DON'T OVER COOK Brownies are best when moist and fudgy and these will be both. USE YOUR OVEN MITT (the pan waws finished and washed cleaned and put back by now, right?) Let cool conmpletely before cutting. Cut into quarters, then 16ths, then 32nds...wrap individually in foil to keep fresh. The Perfect Gift for Any Occassion (maybe not for the mama at a baby shower...fix an unspiked version for her...but papa to be would probably really dig-em ) Enjoy Mama Budz (excuse the typos...I don't feel like re-reading or editing ) | |

| I doubt it would work with out the green butter. and i wouldnt risk making it cause i know for a fact the one with butter works. And im pretty sure not using butter would screw it up. psychological |

| Next time you are at the supermarket check the fat content of butter and margarine and you will see they are almost identical. Butter however is an animal product with a higher rancidity rate and mik solids that interfere with the baking process. I think you misunderstand. The concept here is to share successful recipes so people don't waste their time and expensive herbs on mistakes. My word of advice, and Mama has been cooking and baking probably longer than you have been alive, is to experiment with butter and baking and practice first on test comparisons of your recipes before adding herb. Good luck and happy baking Mama Budz * I Toke & I Vote* | |
