|  Cannabutter/shortening When looking through the recipe section I noticed references to these, but I could not find what they were...are they commercially availible or do we have to make them at home? |

| Cooking With Cannabis 101 Cannabutter Recipe Cannabutter (short for Cannabis Butter) is nothing butter and THC. Since THC is fat soluable, and not water soluable, it is often extracted with a fat like butter, shortening, lard, oil; it can also be extracted with ethanol (alcohol).
