Higher Logic: I'm moving this to the recipe section, since I went ahead and typed up the recipe for making cream cheese. The recipe can be found in this thread or at the Marijuana.com Recipe site, here

i was eating a bagel today, and was thinkin about MJ [as always haha] and i was thinking, you could probably make cannacreamcheese [ i know doesnt flow too well ]. but since its cheese, and fatty, i would think if you would put it in a pan and heat it with the dro that it could hold a good amount of THC and may cover up the taste quite well.. just spread it on a bagel for a day of fun =) so yea.. what do yall think?

Would the heat do anything to the cheese?

It depends on the cheese. Some cheeses, like Swiss and Mozzarella melt homogeneously. Others, like Cheddar, separate into oil and curds when you melt them. The first group solidifies smoothly. The second doesn't.

buzzby is right, but i would almost think that if it seperated into oil and curds, the thc would be dissolved into the oil, and then as it cooled, you could maybe stir the curds and oil together to get it to reform as it once was.. i really dont know how cheese works, cream cheese in particular, but it might be worth a shot

Hey man, worst case scenario: the cream cheese dosen't heat well, clean the pan, go rip a J. Go for it!

wish i could =/ been off the MJ for 7 weeks now. went from 3 times a day, to cold turkey.. one more week and ill be good to go =)

I introduce to you, Homemade Cannacream Cheese.

Quote:

Ingredients

1 ounce cannabis
1 gallon whole milk
1 quart cultured buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

Grind the cannabis into a very fine powder, making sure to sift out any stems (or seeds if any). Pour the milk and buttermilk into a large pan and insert a thermometer into the pan. You can buy a candy thermometer, or one that attaches to the side of the pan, for cheap at any grocery store. Add the powdered cannabis into the milk mixture and cook over medium heat, stirring occassionally until the temperature reaches 170º F.

Keep the mixture on the heat and the temperature of the milk between 170-175º F. After 15 minutes, pour the mixture though cheesecloth to remove the particles of marijuana. This step is optional, you can leave the bud in there, especially if you used a coffee grinder to finely chop it into a powder. Return the mixture to the pan. Wait another 15 minutes after you return the milk mixture to the pan and the it should start to seperate into curds (the lumps) and whey (the liquid).

Line a strainer with several layers of moistened cheesecloth and set it inside a large bowl. Pour the mixture through the strainer to lift the curds from the milk mixture. You can save or get rid of the liquid that's left, but it can be used in other recipes.

Let the curds drain at room temperature for 2-4 hours. Remove the cheese from the cheesecloth and place in a blender with salt. Blend until creamy.

Store the cheese in small containers with tight fitting lids and refrigerate. You can also freeze and then thaw the cream cheese, but you have to blend it to make it creamy again.
