I have a little bit of hash. My friend gives me her little bit of hash. There's a party on saturday night. I say, let's make a small batch of brownies.

WRONG IDEA!

I went to the supermarket and got a regular box of brownie mix. I split it in two. One batch would be the regular "cover" brownies so my grandmother doesn't get any ideas. The other half would be hash infused.

So I've read about a dozen recipes for cannabudder (from here and other places on the internet) and and I see very little about doing it with hash. I also realize that Betty Crocker doesn't need my butter, she needs my oil... but that's okay because it's still fat and the stuff is still fat soluble. The one thing I do notice is that everything has to be in small bits. So I decide to make the hash into tiny pieces. And grind them in a pill grinder.

BAD. IDEA. I spent the better part of an hour pulling out hash pieces with a tweezer only to watch them dissolve easily into warmed vegetable oil.

I got maybe 90% of the hash into the brownie mix and baked it, and you could smell the hash. It was maybe a gram or a little less in there. I hope it's potent enough.

The rest of the hash in the pill grinder... well I warmed oil and got most of it out and into the oil, and I put the oil on a piece of bread with a piece of cheese and toasted it... I'm saving that for later. I'm going to split it with a friend. If it works... well, the brownies will be a hit. If not... well, so we're out a little hash, but we got it for free anyway.

Sigh. What a debacle. Next time, if there is a next time, I know better than to stuff hash into small places!
