You can prepare the leaf the same way as you would bud, only because the leaf has slightly less THC you may want to use more leaf than is called for bud. ![]()

| What's better for THC to "cling"...butter, oil (olive), lard, or a nice chunk of the lyposuction extractions? Is alcohol any more efficient, I guess that's what I'm asking. What's the most efficient? I think Pam is the most qualified to answer this one. Thanks

Animal fats and alcohol work the best, but since I'm anti-alcohol the answer from me would be whole butter is the best for absorbing the THC. Pan

do you then strain the oil with cheese cloth or just throw the oil+plant material into whatever you're cooking?

I do, but it's really a matter of preference.

i think i will, i don't want stems in my brownies...ick. thanks for the advice. i've got some plant simmering in oil right now. i heated it up until it was bubbling slightly in a couple of places and then turned it down gradually until it stopped bubbling. now i'm going to let it finish simmering while i go buy brownie mix. i'll let you know how it turns out.

hmmm...i accidentally let it simmer for an hour and a half and the oil was kinda brownish and the plant material was shriveled and darkened. maybe the heat was up to high, though i the oil was not bubbling. i doubt it will work, but the brownies will be good at least. i noticed on the package that you can substitute margarine or butter for the oil so next time i'm just going to make cannabutter and use that.

they turned about better than i thought. it takes about 3 2"x2 brownies to get high. would this mean that i need stronger/more weed or to not let it simmer as long next time?

when you guys say "olive oil"... do you mean "olive oil" or "virgin olive oil" or "extra virgin olive oil", etc. I'm guessing you mean regular "olive oil" but i want to make sure before i waste material.

I don't think using one or the other would affect much, the difference (from what i've been told) is just the acidity level and the flavor of the oil.
