| Thank you Panama and Mamabudz primarily, as I relied heavily on their opinions and recipes while trying my first batch of cannabudder. Honestly, this was so hilariously easy, why on earth does ANYONE mess with Leary Biscuits and the like? Blegh! I'm a medical user, and due to an upcoming treatment called prolotherapy, I must quit smoking. Yes, quit smoking. But quit eating? Nah, no one said anything about that!!! Treatments will be every 6 weeks for a year, so it's not like it's a lifetime or anything. I've been smoking 10 years anyway, so it's nice to try something new. Basically, I took 1/4 oz of a White Widow hybrid (not sure of the specs, the other part of the mix), and ground it very finely in a specially purchased cheapo walmart coffee grinder. This will be nice, as I plan to do this again. I bought cheesecloth, $4.00 for a HUGE sheet, I used 10% of it, minimum. I needed an oven thermometer anyway, so another $5.00. So far, we are at about $20.00 in material needed that will last for many batches! Not a bad investment! I purchased some European butter (darn if I can't remember the name, I am not at home now), melted approximately 1 1/2 sticks (it came in one big 1 lb hunk, so it's a guess) and added the now cannaflour to the butter. I ground the bud so fine, it was a real b*tch to get out of the grinder! Still well worth the trouble. I rid the bad of stems first, doing a little hand grinding to do that, then used an acrylic grinder before the coffee grinder. I doubt all that is necessary, but it gave me some time to think things through. I sauteed the butter for about 20 minutes on very low heat, stirring almost constantly. I simply put the cheesecloth over a bowl, put the bowl in another bowl (just in case, don't want the cannabis butter on the floor, do we?!) and poured it right from the pan to the bowl. I used a spatula to strain the cheesecloth ball (which I kept to use for a topical application), and stuck it in the fridge while I did the math to convert a Betty Crocker Cookie mix that called for one egg, and 1 stick of butter. I didn't want to use all my cannabudder in one shot, so I made half a dozen cookies using 2 tablespoons of butter, I quartered the recipe. I ended up with 2/3 of a cup of dark green cannabudder. I made 6 cookies tonight with 2 tablespoons of cannabudder. At my calculation, that is about 1 gram in those 6 cookies. I want to go slow at first, so we can eat more cookies if needed. Once I know how potent this batch of budder is, I can make a recipe that calls for more butter, or less PERFECT!!! I had a taste, but I've been smoking all day. Me and my guy are gonna start off with a cookie each tomorrow and see how it goes. I needed to make cookies because I am taking a trip in 2 days, and I need pot to control my nausea, and pain. I figured I'd better give myself a few days to experiment with dosages before I eat 3 cookies right outside the airport and lose my mind in the next airport! Tomorrow I'm making some brownies, too. I also thought I would try some pound cake cupcakes to see what I like best. Honestly guys, ditch those nasty grass crackers and delusions of pot pills. This is a delicious, undetectable (in terms of taste), harmless way of consuming marijuana- of course take your time if you aren't used to oral ingestion. Note: I am NOT travelling on ANY airplane with pot. NO stone is worth going to jail. The best, and only responsible place to use is in your own home, or at the homes of other friends (read other homeowners) Thank you guys, your combined knowledge helped make this one a winner! ![]() |
