Default Healthy stoners?

Hi,
I have a food question. I'm 5'10 always been about 150 lbs since I was 18. I smoked everyday for a long time and never gained any weight because I had to walk everyday for about an hour traveling for work. I had to quit for about a year because of a job search. Now I'm back to everyday smoking and with that comes the munchies. I usually eat kindof healthy, no fast food except subway or jimijohns. But I get home from work and smoke and eat like 2 dinners over the night and snacks from being hungry, and since I don't need to walk anywhere I've gained like 15 pounds. I've been working out a bit too so not all of it is fat. Its all happened in the last few months since I started smoking so I know its connected to that. I want to know what some healthy snacks are that can feed the munchies, and what other things people who like to blaze do to keep healthy. Thanks folks.

Fruits and veggies!! Especially dipped in peanut butter (not sure how healthy peanut butter is but it cant be that bad). I especially like celery or apples in peanut butter and those little baby carrots in ranch dressing. Also a deliciously healthy stoned treat hummus on pitas and you can throw in some onions and jalapenos on that pita and you got yourself a little meal. Good luck on the eating healthy.

Two issues.
Healthy food and maintaining weight.
Healthy food seems pretty straight forward especially if you have access to a good health food store. Here in that dastardly liberal California they are practically de rigeur.

Insofar as weight it is really quite simple (unless one has a problematic physiological condition).

Calories in, calories out.

Just like you've seen. You were on regimen X and you maintained on an even keel. Calories in, calories out.
You stop the aerobic exercise and keep eating the same. Calories in, LESS calories out. Somethings gotta give eh?
Either you take in less calories or get back to some form of exercise that burns what your calorie intake is now.
Simple.

There is so much good information on this subject out there even if there are a gazillion different variations on the theme.
I'd recommend you pick up a copy of the Atkins diet. Whether or not you subscribe to all of his theories or not is of little importance. He has put together a straight forward system that not only works but has stood the test of scrutiny.

Munchies? Well there's a tough one
Don't know. Eat less calories at other times in a 24 hour period?
Vegetables, any fruit, lots of water, power bars etc.

Did I hear chocolate anyone...

Banana chips!
I never used to be crazy about dried fruit, even banana chips, but I had some that were in a trail mix, and they were the shit! It was a perfect mix of sweet & salty. I liked them so much, I went out and bought a big bag from the health food store for snacking on at work. But they didn't quite have that sweet & salty taste I liked, so I threw in a handful or two of salted peanuts, and mixed them in to give them that awesome sweet & salty taste.

Edamame is another healthy option that is really great for the munchies. Get those really large salt flakes too to throw on top. They're even a little bit better the next day after they're all cold and the salt has soaked into the pods.

I forget what brand it is, but my boss swears by it. It's the natural flavored popcorn by Orville Redenbaucher or it might be another brand, I forget. But it has like 5grams of fiber per bag, so it will fill you up really well. It's naturally flavored too, so there aren't that many calories in each bag.

Fruit. Definitely fruit.

Probably one of the more healthy things you could eat, and definitely (in my opinion anyway) the most delicious munchies food ever. Oh man I can still remember the first time after getting ripped as hell off my bong, getting the munchies, not having any food (we were in like a park area, no fast food joints around). I had an orange in my backpack. Biting into it's cold juicy deliciousness was the best thing ever.

Yes I actually was so hungry I just bit into it with the skin on. Still was the best orange I've ever eaten.

Fruit is so good! If I wasn't po' ass broke I would definitely just go to the grocery store when I have the munchies and get some tasty oranges, apples, pineapple, berries, whatever it's all good. Unfortunately for me...McDonald's and Taco Bell is usually where I go because...well I'm po' ass broke.

Whole Foods is an oasis of yum. My dad calls it the food museum. I like to make "lettuceless salads." Just go to the salad bar and pile in the fresh broccoli, peas, shredded carrots, garbanzo beans, mushrooms, baby corn, cucumbers, lemon herb seasoned tofu, and a little ranch dressing...mmmm

Lean meat will get rid of your munchies pretty quick.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Luckily I gotta go to the store today and I'll pick up some more of this stuff. Any other ideas?

Keep a lot of fruits and veggies on hand.. mangos are especially delicious when you have the munchies because of how flavourful they are. Baby carrots are good (keeps the mouth busy with all the crunching) with light ranch dressing.
The best thing to do is plan ahead.. that way you reach for the bag of fruit/veg rather than the bag of chips.
