'Harry Potter' actor Jamie Waylett busted on marijuana charges

He's known for his role in the "Harry Potter" films, but actor Jamie Waylett could soon soon win the nickname "Harry pothead."

The British actor, who plays bullying Howarts student Vincent Crabbe in the hit movies, was arrested after police seized what they believe is cannabis worth about $2,900 from the actor's London home, reports Britain's Telegraph.

Cops stopped Waylett on April 2 while he was driving his Audi car, because they thought he was acting suspiciously. Inside the car, officers allegedly found eight bags of marijuana and arrested Waylett and his friend on suspicion of drug possession.

Police later raided the 19-year-old actor's home, which he shares with his mother, two brothers and a sister, taking ten mature plants with them.

But these weren't just any old weeds, according to the Telegraph.

The pot was allegedly being grown under powerful hydroponic lights, right next to Waylett's Playstation and his DJ decks.

So, Waylett was arrested again, on suspicion of producing the drug.

If convicted of that crime, the actor faces up to 14 years in jail.

"Both men have been bailed to a date in July pending further inquiries and tests on the substances," a Metropolitan Police spokesman told the Telegraph.

Waylett has appeared alongside stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson in all six of the blockbuster films.

The next film in the wizard series, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," is due out in July.
