I respect that you appreciate the military discipline that you recieved, but would you find it fair if someone came along to you and said, everyone must play poker, none of this I don't gamble shit, none of this I don't have a poker face, just stop being a nit, man-up and put some fucking money on the table. Do you see what I mean? | |

| Whn our potential vice-president talks about attacks coming from any of 5 nations within 6 months of the election, damn right it conerns me, and no "speaking the truth" is going to put me at ease. Why should I be calm about the potential for the loss of more American lives just so Obama can prove himself to the world? How many lives are worth proving he has (or doesn't have) what it takes to lead our country? The man isn't exactly brimming with foreign policy experience, now is he? If putting him in office puts a bulls-eye on the United States, why should I embrace that as a good thing?

| Ok I'm just going to put my two cents in here. Yes TM42 I agree with you that our gun rights are very very important. However even though I don't agree with either candidates policies I think the lesser of the two evils as far as this election goes has to be Obama. I've watched hours of footage of debates and looked at a lot of info on the candidates stances and I just think voting McCain is the wrong thing to do for the nation overall. I know Obama's stance on guns and while I agree with you TM42 there are other more pressing matters in this election than guns. Prices are skyrocketing, people's houses are being foreclosed on, unemployment is going through the roof. Honestly I think taking care of our own needs has to be our first priority. Big business has fucked the little guy too many times. If it weren't for hardcore corporate greed we wouldn't be in this economic mess to begin with. But look people with families are losing their homes, jobs, and having a hard time feeding their families. Now look at it from this point of view: If you had just lost your home, your job, and your kids were going hungry and while you are trying to get a new job and a place to live the government would only help you minimally or not at all in some cases, would your #1 priority for this election still be your gun rights, or getting someone to fix this mess in a proper way? Look I don't like Obama's stance on gun control anymore than you do. I love my guns. However, I don't think McCain's plan to fix this crisis will work. In fact a lot of his views I disagree with. Either way you vote its a lose/lose situation. I just happen to think Obama has a better plan on this and other key issues whereas McCain just seems to be out to let big business do the usual. Sorry I love guns, I love to hunt, and I don't think the government should have the ability to restrict me, but I also care about my fellow man and fixing this mess. Sorry if that offends anyone but that is how I feel and how I see it. Last edited by stonedK1982 : 10-29-2008 at 12:16 PM. |
