I'm looking for reasons that can be respectfully used in an argument. Ones free of fallacies and tongue-in-cheek accusations.

Harry's post was good, not perfect, but good. And I thanked him for it.

I'm not sure what you mean... but I haven't groaned at any posts in this thread so far (i just checked).

The ones I didn't like didn't really follow the rules... and maybe it's my fault for not explaining the rules better, and I'll edit them if you think I should...

But if your reasoning can not be backed up by a citation or a reference because it is purely opinionated, then all I was asking was for you to make sure the reason could not equally be applied to McCain.

Now, this was before Buzzby posted in the other thread which made me realize I was thinking of these threads as a McCain vs Obama thing, when in reality, there are other candidates... so one shouldn't have to argue for their candidate, only against the one in the thread (in this case Obama).

Still, though, aside from a few posts... most of the "arguments" in this thread have been pretty weak.

Maybe it is selfish of me, but a part of this thread was to see if I had "missed" anything in regards to Obama so I would be better prepared when I ran into an obama-fanatic at school (I attend a very liberal school).

Anyways... to answer your question... no, harry's is not enough... and if that is--in your opinion--all that is wrong with obama, and it all fits into that single post that Harry posted... then he must not be such a bad guy. I would think/hope that there was much more to be said.

Let's see... he has been a christian for years, attending a christian church, and calling himself a christian.

If you can't follow that line of logic, then there's not much else I can say.

If you think a single slip of the tongue can contridict one's life, then wow... I wonder why you don't apply the same logic to all of McCain's slip of the tongues, or even Bush's many, many slip of the tongues (some feeding the fire to the many 9/11 conspiracy theorists that I'm sure you have feelings about).
